A decent premiere episode on HBO. Apparently this is going to be an 8-show season as part of an anthology. Next year they will have a different cast and story. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson star as the led detectives investigating an "occult" murder in rural Louisiana.

Really got hooked on this show. Look forward to following episodes. -- Al

I recorded this on my DVR last night...I will try to watch it today...the trailer looked promising...

I've never been a huge fan, but Matthew McConaughey was really good in this. Seems like it will be a good show and worth the ride

Looks to be really good.McConaughey's part looks to be a award winner.

Watched Episode 2 last night. I dunno, I was getting kind of bored it seemed to go nowhere.

Interesting you say that. I was thinking the same thing, that it was taking a long time to go a very little way. I hope that the pace picks up, or that other cases of interest might get injected. It is going to be a long season if the show encompasses just the one case and moves an inch at a time. -- Al

Classic line about the smoking it was making me feel sick and those beers must be nice and hot.
Agree it did drag on and on and on,but i can think of 1 bit that wasn't to boring involving hand cuffs..............................^&grin

I liked it.I mean it's been ONLY 2 episodes.I think you will be satisfied when it concludes.

During the handcuff scene I kept thinking what if she decided that he was not going to leave his wife? That would present a problem he would have a hard time explaining.

Worth the risk........................:wink2:

Watched Episode 3 last night and I got to keep asking myself "why".
What am I missing here? I just checked, this is an 8 episode series. I,ll give it one more try, if it doesn,t jump out I,m done.

By the looks of the previews it's going to pick up soon.I like it myself.

I am now actually kind of enjoying the slow pace of the story. Even with the rather leisurely pace, I find the hour goes quickly. I am in for the series. The oddball characters are just too interesting. -- Al

I really enjoy the slow burn pace of this show. Episode three was great. Not a huge fan of McConaughey but he is really carrying this show.

It seems well done,,but then I watch the soparanos every nite doing dialog

Episode 4 quite good. Police procedure sure gone off the rails now. :rolleyes2: -- Al
