I think everyone will agree that episode 4 has certainly picked up with the action...

I knew it would get better and better.Great episode.
Mark

Yep i agree Mike glad i stuck with this one.

Wayne...I'm enjoying this...I love all the dark characters with so many personal issues and have always been a fan of Harrelson and McConaughey...on top of that...almost any series HBO does is usually entertaining...

do they have plans for more than the 8 scheduled episodes?

Renewed for next year but different story with different actors.Sort of like American Horror Story.
Mark

If you like this show, you should try "Rectify" on the Sundance Channel. It was a six-part show which they have renewed for a second season. One of the better shows that I can remember.

OK, I watched Episode 4 tonight, much better. However as a retired police officer this story is so outlandish I must refocus and tell myself it is just entertainment. None of this would actually ever happen.
Gary

Continues to stay very interesting but things are really getting twisted. I'm really getting wrapped up in this. -- Al

I know of 2 instances where officers were UC with local biker gangs and forgot what side they were on. One got pinched drug trafficking and the other for robberies. Now they enjoy the confines of federal pen.

Joe I know what you are talking about but the part I meant was that the guy took a leave of absence the way I understood it, to do undercover work on a case he was already working. Now I never knew a policeman, unless it was personal, that would "work for free".
Loved the part last night were he blew that guys brains out then they concocted that story, never saw anything like that before!
Gary

I'm enjoying this...McConoughey plays a very dark character...this must have bben shot during or right after "Dallas Buyer's Club"...he looks withered away in True Detective...

Tell you what Gary ever since I moved into this new house everyone in the neighborhood feels like they can come to me with their problems. I blame my wife for flapping her lips and pretty much telling everyone and their mother what I do. But seriously though I get what your saying. No way in he!! Am I taking a leave of absence to handle a case. I'll do that on duty the legal way.

Good call......no cop in their right mind is going to take 'leave' to investigate a job they're already working on.....unless they're doing something very dodgy and even then that's far fetched!

Sorry mate, had to laugh when you mentioned the 'neighbourhood' thing and the flapping lips......that was quite funny and I know what ya mean.

It's the darnest of things. I tell my wife not to blab and she does the exact opposite.

Glad I stuck with this program, can,t wait untill next week.
Gary

Same here. Really enjoying this. Next week's 'talk' should be real interesting. -- Al

Looks like the partnership is coming full circle, they went their separate ways and are now getting back together for the last two episodes.

This series has become must watch TV............

Highest ratings yet for the episode this week. I hate to see it end, but maybe it's for the best. It seems like shows that drag out go downhill fast. The buzz for season two is female detectives.

Watched the first 6 episodes marathon style yesterday, amazing the little things you pick up on watching a series like this a second time.

Really looking forward to the last two episodes...............
