It's not thinly veiled. :rolleyes2: Unfortunately, the constant repetition of the same opinion has worn a hole in the fabric of the space time continuum allowing a portal into a bizzarro universe where everything is opposite and backward to our own. In that universe, FLOZZEV says only good things about K&C and collects only K&C models, prices are constantly reduced, quality is constantly raised, resales are below MSRP. Sadly there is little choice - it's the same 3 models repeated and none of the 3 models made by K&C are Tigers.

To commemorate this event I think Andy is planning to do a VEZZOLF figure priced at $42 and will be exploiting the bizzarro universe with a FLOZZEV figure priced at $24. {sm4}{sm4}

Terry

Blame Vezzolf - he opened the rift. And if the bizzarro universe takes over, all the Tigers you have will disappear as if they never existed. {sm2}

terry

You have your universes confused. If you buy the Vezzolf figure, it costs the new price of $42 and can resell it at any price it can demand (but don't count on it going up) {sm4} If you buy the Flozzev figure, it's only $24 but the resale price in the Bizzarro universe is guaranteed to be lower. As with all toy figures, buy it because you like it, not to make a profit. You of all people should know better. {sm4}{sm4}

A set of the most lucid comments ever posted on this forum.
For what its worth, I'm selling my entire toy soldier collection to buy some of whatever Terry's been taking. {sm5}

It"ll be one heck of a laser duel with Dear Old Dad....Tickets should be sold for that one{sm4}

Are posts like the preceding one necessary? Frank is stating a point of view that you may not like but he has the right to say it. Obviously, he's made the decision that the FL tanks are worth it to him (and that the price if fair) just as equally as he's saying that the Typhoon is not worth it to him (and not a fair price).

Hell yes it's necassary, he revels in anarchy on the K&C sight. Fine with every Higher price of the FL releases We should go over there and rail against something we have no intention of buying, is this the world you approve of? good for the goose, good for the gander!:confused:

I agree.

Odd that you mention anarchy because that's what we would have if people went over to the FL part of the Forum to do what you suggest. Moreover, we are all collectors and hopefully not grouped by company affiliation as if company affiliation. We should be finding things that unite us, not that divide us, and certainly not be erecting artificial barriers.

Frank is a K & C collector actually, as well as a Figarti collector. Now, I may not like the manner in which he may say things but we all express our thoughts in different ways and the thought he's expressing is not different from what many have said. I also don't think it's a requisite that we have to buy everything we comment on.

brad,
I guess you must be trying to take some intellectual high road, but your words ring hollow to anyone who has followed this latest brew haha.
I how you are able to draw from Franks conduct and posts that this is just some innocent expression of free speech, how many years have you been on this forum? How many times have we had these flair ups and the "usual suspect" is flinging it hot and heavy? Same nifarious undertones and retoric directed exclusively at K&C and at no other manufacturer, never attacked $1000 items from other makers or the highest priced armor on the market? This really ain't that difficult, sorry Brad.

Re: Comparisons

Hi Treefroggers,

Re the discussion on the price difference between certain warbirds…in particular the new “Hawker Typhoon”.

Here’s a few pix so you might see why it costs what it costs. (See attached…)

Obviously you will make up your own minds however I would say that a lot more “man-hours” went into the production of this particular aircraft than any previous K&C Warbird… by far!

Both Andy and myself wish it could have been less expensive and perhaps we could have “cut-corners” but together with Helen and the rest of the K&C team we decided to make it the very best we could.

We fully appreciate and understand that this will be too expensive for some collectors… and that is a great regret.

Howver, K&C stands by this excellent model and consider it the finest warbird yet… a true K&C classic of a great warplane!

A big thank you to all those who will buy the Typhoon… we promise you won’t regret it!

Very best wishes and happy collecting,
Gordon C. Neilson

Great photos but is there any change of having a photo of the Typhoon & Me 262 together so that we can compare size ?
Thank in advance

As a customer who really wants to get this Typhoon, I really appreciate this response. It looks fantastic. Is it worth the money ? Well only an individual can judge that. For my part I will find a way to purchase this but it will be at the expense of many other potential K&C purchases.
I'm really looking forward to adding this piece to my collection.

I was surprised at some of the comments from collectors about pay less for sets and accept a reduction in quality but, I am surprised at K&C saying it could have cut corners but decided to go for it. How could one have cut corners you either portray the Typhoon in the way it should be or you do not. Also, before the pack hounds jump to the defence of the company ask those who review all posts that I placed about the Typhoon to show that I have not said its too much etc just that we are pricing too many people out of the hobby

Shame when a great many have raised concerns that Frank seems to be getting stick for opining with clarity what many have said and, I am sure a few think but, are to frightened to say on an open forum

I find it just as ridiculous that you cannot say what you feel about K&C products just as you cannot express what you think when its negative about FL for fear of rattling someone's dummy and making them cry

For me in all of this is the fact that the real reality seems to be that many have not grown up sufficiently to accept the outrageous suggestion that not all is rosy in the hobby

Me too James. This will easily be my biggest purchase of the year and as I've said before I will also change my purchasing schedule around to accommodate it, but you know what, in a years time I won't be worrying about the price tag so much but enjoying it in its dio in my office a great deal.

She's pretty big isn't she, much bigger than the Spit and Hurricane , looking forward to having this on my airfield next month.

I don't think there was any doubt that this would be very nice but cost is a separate issue and the two should not be confused.

Having said that, when I buy an expensive item, such as when I purchased two wooden birds in 2005, once the money is paid the fretting about the cost ceases and I just enjoy the item. I'm sure all those who do with this plane will feel the same.

If you are REALLY desperate for an affordable typhoon - Oxford diecast do a small one for around £12.

Just a thought - as I don't collect them - johnnybach

Quite right, I've been looking forward to this a great deal since it was announced and guessed early on it would not be cheap, but the wish to have this in my collection (for those who don't like the 'must have ' term^&grin) is very strong. Also this is pretty much a one off purchase, I'm probably never going to need or want another Typhoon so this will have a unique place in my collection.

It does appear from these K/C photos to be a good looking plane....Still I would like to see it in the flesh before purchasing at $369 ........I also would like to see a photo of size comparison with the Me262.....Does anyone have the wingspan dimensions and length yet.
