Union 6 Gun Battery At Work (1 Viewer)

Things seem a little quiet lately and thought I would post some pics of
2nd Wisconsin advancing by companies.

Wonderfull look.

Chris these are super and here's a couple of suggestions. Move the color guard to the right of the color company coming on line. Move the rear rank men in the firing company closer to the front rank. Thanks for the photos.

I missed this one first time around.

Outstanding job! I'm not sure this diorama artillery scene can be equaled. Again, great job!

Chris, your photos from yesterday of the 2nd Wi advancing by company are very nicely done. What are the dimensions of your new H&A dio base? You are able to do quit a bit with it as far as arranging your "troops" I know I thoroughly enjoy my 4-foot by 8-foot H&A dio table . . . . I like how you have your artillery battery in the background as support. For my 2nd Wi Iron Brigade scenarios I am slowly building a 6-gun battery of 12-pound Napoleon Guns which will represent Battery B, 4th U.S. Artillery. Battery B fought with and supported the Iron Brigade exclusively throughout the Brigade's "fighting" existence and was entirely made up of Napoleons . . . . .

Thanks Mike. The base is 32" x 32 ". I plan to ask Ken to make another for a medical display (once my barn arrives) and possibly dismounted cavalry. I would like to have a display as large as yours but my permanent 3' x 8' Naps dio (not an H&A) is already in place.

Your photos and scenes have truly been an inspiration to depict ACW dios and are the gold std to me. :smile2: Chris

Would love to be able to get an H&A base that big!^&grin

You could buy two of the plain grass/road sections to add on at $60? a pop, and add on some WBritain or H&A turnpike fences at another $50-100.....
But then again, there's space:rolleyes2::(

I have a dark secret. I've brigaded the Irish 28th Mass with the 2nd Wisc in my ACW diorama. {eek3} And almost no one who sees it will know how wrong that is. I'm so ashamed. :redface2: Chris

I did notice that. A little artistic license. The display looks very good.

Thanks 6th Wisc. I've heard Ken will be sculpting more Iron Bgde standards. I'll have to get some more Iron Bgde figs to make another regt, which is a good thing! :wink2: Chris

You can never have too much Iron Brigade, though it is hard to beat the Irish flags.
