Hi.
Curious if there exists a free online or downloadable catalog for Trophy of Wales?
Thanks
MikeNick

No, there isn’t. If there’s a particular question you need answered, Martyn is your man.

Hi MikeNick

No downloadable catalog available but catalogs do turn up on Ebay quite often though they tend to be the later 1990's releases. Let me know if there are any particular figures you need help with

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks,
Did Trophy ever make any of the following figures:
1. Greeks?
2. French colonial troops?
3.personality figures other than those in the military? If yes, which ones?
Regards,
MikeNick

Hi Mike

No Greeks i'm afraid

French Algerian Tirailleurs (Turcos) for the Crimea (very limited edition) and Boxer Rebellion. The was also a very limited edition of WW1 French Colonial troops that I believe Louis has in his wonderful WW1 diorama

Probably the closest non military figure is Florence Nightingale

Cheers

Martyn

William Russell, the war correspondent who is in the Crimea Range, is a non military figure.

I don’t know if she counts as a personality figure but there is Susanna Dickinson in the Alamo range.

I also believe but can’t swear to it that there is a John Burns figure in the Gettysburg big box set.

you are correct about Burns. tommy

How could I forget JACK THE RIPPER :wink2:

What about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson? I have them standing with a Baker Street sign and riding in a Hansom Cab, and I know Trophy also did young Dr. Watson on the retreat from Kabul, wounded on a horse with a dog. Also, didn't Trophy make a Boer War version of Winston Churchill as a war correspondent? And Martyn has recently posted some nice photos of Florence Nightingale.

Very good Louis :salute::

Here are another couple of "book" characters

Mr. PICKWICK

RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY

and.....at a pinch

SANTA CLAUS

I didn’t mention the T & C range — of which Holmes and Watson are a part — because I think MikeNick was asking the question in the context of the military ranges.

During the Boer War, after he escaped, Churchill had a dual role as officer and correspondent so the figure is not a purely non military one.

I think MikeNick was after personality figures other than those in the military, T&C figures should qualify :wink2:

Not that many personality figures in T & C. In addition to the ones you and Louis mentioned, there’s Jack the Ripper. I suppose you could include Tommy Atkins.

How far back are we going into history? I have a Trophy King Arthur with the Sword in the Stone. Does that count?

Trophy also made circus sets. I believe Tom Dubel has a large collection. Here is a photo of some of the circus sets (not mine).

Those are hardly online auctions, just a smattering of figures here and there, certainly nothing equivalent to what Bill Sager has done for K & C.

That should have read “online catalogues,” rather than “online auctions.”

These photos are from the MKL catalogue, which is no longer available.

If you need better or close up photos, please let me know. The Trophy catalogue also has a listing but not all are in color.
