Usps (1 Viewer)

Last yr and every yr prior to that USPS was reliable for Christmas package delivery, at least in my experience. Now the system, to include letter delivery from what I read here, has completely broken down. I can only think whatever mail handling process was put in place due to COVID is partially to blame. Chris

Hopefully the log jam has started to break. Re'c several USPS tracking notices that pkgs are on the move after being stuck for 2 weeks. Chris

Hopefully. My package finally arrived in NJ and has left the distribution facility so maybe sometime next week.

I think I can honestly say I'll see these packages sometime next year, lol.

The last of 5 pkgs stuck for several weeks being delivered today. Chris

Glad to hear it. Still counting my blessings that my wife's gift showed up but no word whatsoever on any of my 3 missing book orders. I will wait another week before hitting the panic button. :rolleyes2: -- Al

My package left the Jersey City facility on Christmas Day but is still nowhere to be seen. I’m curious what they are doing with it. I have a hard time understanding why there is no progress in three days.

Probably in the Jersey City post office reading room. :redface2: Hopefully you'll see it later this week Brad. Chris

At this point it’s getting annoying but the Jersey City facility is notoriously terrible. If it doesn’t show up by next Wednesday I will ask the merchant to replace the records.

I had several show up today. 3 of them had been in the mail for weeks. One was mailed Nov.8th. Maybe now that Christmas is over they are starting to get a handle on it.

The package is now at the Kearney facility, the final step before it goes to my local po. Let’s see Kearney is only 8.9 miles from Jersey City. It took about 3 days to go 9 miles. That’s definitely a strenuous trip. Maybe it went by camel - “I’d walk a mile for a camel.”

The log jam is starting to break up. Have now gotten 2 of my missing orders. One arrived today after a month long trip from Arizona. It arrived damaged (basically destroyed) as it was a large, heavy book that the dealer just shoved into a thin cardboard wrap, no padding at all, and mailed. The whole binding was ripped loose from the boards. E-Bay amateurs drive me nuts. Refund request now in progress.:rolleyes2: Still have 2 MIA orders, both 5 weeks out and counting. -- Al

MIA order #3 showed up today, 6 weeks after leaving California! Believe it came via covered wagon. At least it was in good shape. Only 1 MIA order to go, a book from Connecticut placed on Dec.4. So, maybe that will be here soon. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Victory declared. Snail mail has delivered my last MIA book this AM, and it was in good shape after it's 40+ day trek from far away Connecticut. See, patience is a virtue, as if I had any choice. Well. all is well that ends well. Now, I start sweating out my post Christmas rush orders... -- Al
