I have watched a led zeppelin vinyl bounce from Florida to New York to Chicago, back to New York ,back to Chicago where I live and today at 3 am it was sent to Cincinnati Ohio.
Its been in the mail for 5 weeks.
Nice pick up Tom. I ordered the Sabbath vol iv remaster coming in Feb.

Brad,
Actually was directly from Motorhead, it was a limited super version. I am awaiting a reply. Just idiotic way to package an expensive item. I just shake my head
Tom

Some of these artist stores, which are probably run by someone else, are not always the greatest. Warner Media, which runs the Grateful Dead store, dead.net, can be very inconsistent. I’ve only had one horror story with them.

On more than one instance, I've had people bring packages to my house that were misdelivered. Once a guy said he was following a delivery truck down the road, and packages were falling out of the back. He was collecting and delivering them.

It's worth considering that its a recognised ploy for thieves to follow delivery vehicles and steal the parcels from front porches within minutes if they weren't collected by someone from the house. I've seen a few videos of them doing this in America, could also happen in Australia I suppose.

Earlier in the year I had a suspicious parcel delivery of a parcel that was overdue. An old beat up sedan stopped out front. A young poorly dressed Asian female came up to my front door with the parcel, I went out to ask the obvious, and why the parcel was so late, she had no clue.

A friend told me that during busy times of the year the contracted drivers or even Australia Post put on extra casuals to deliver parcels. I was rather suspicious of the situation but apparently it's a thing.

Hence my own frustration - Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Motorhead Ace of Spades Vinyl et al. Packaged in Wooden Case......................no packing inside box. Gouge and damage to case.....................................Just pissed.

On the bright side Tom, it is only Motorhead and not a good metal band like Metallica ^&grin

It was funnier in my head, I luv metal but never a fan of Motorhead.
Made me laugh.. Metallica made the best 5 of the best heavy metal albums in history. Then they made the black album. And that was end of that.

This is so unacceptable and sorry this happened to you Tom. I hope they have a replacement they can send you. How they can send the high dollar, mega-deluxe version without any packaging is beyond comprehension! The Motorhead 40th remasters are very well done, and I particularly enjoy the accompanying live shows- warts and all, of course. The Ace of Spades was a life soundtrack album for me....the title track, The Hammer, The Chase is Better Than the Catch, Shoot You in the Back, We Are the Road Crew, Fast and Loose, etc. And it all sounds like it was recorded in one weekend! I'm really looking forward to the Iron Fist, No Sleep and Another Perfect Day remasters.

Remember, they were Motorhead, and they played Rock n' Roll!

Very true.

I deliver packages as a side gig................................MMTS package delivery at your service....................

I'm getting carpet bombed with people wanting to know where their packages are, mostly Ebay buyers.

Hey listen, I get it, I really do, but sorry, there is absolutely, positively nothing I can do about it.

If I could, I would, I really would.

But short of me hooking up my sled, putting on a couple of hundred lb's, blowing all my feathers and growing a beard and finding 8 reindeer who can fly, it's out of my control.

And if anyone is thinking of filing a claim for lost packages/items not delivered through Ebay; Ebay has told me as long as the tracking is uploaded, that ain't happening.

This will all settle down.............probably by Valentines Day, but still................................

Unfortunately, no replacement, however I have to say the resolution refund they did I can actually live with b/c the inside the lps are awesome! What a cool set of music. I never got into Motorhead until Lemmy started doing stuff with Ozzy and Metallica, then I started listening and was hooked. It is metal, it is hard rock, just an interesting twist of music. The lyrics are either exactly that simple or read into it! Ace of Spades - if you study anything about our Navy Seals, the lyrics take on their own meaning.

If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
You win some, lose some, all the same to me

The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades

Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil
Going with the flow, it's all a game to me

Seven or eleven, snake eyes watching you
Double up or quit, double stake or split, the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades

You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it baby
I don't wanna live for ever
And don't forget the joker!

Pushing up the ante, I know you gotta see me
Read 'em and weep, the dead man's hand again

I see it in your eyes, take one look and die
The only thing you see, you know it's gonna be the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades

Funny; it's all about perspective..............before the Black album, I wasn't familiar with much of their work, then I became a fan, have seen them live three times and they've never disappointed me.

I know they are covers, but Turn the page and Whiskey in the Jar don't do if for you then?

Same with me, not a fan of their earlier work, similar with several other rock bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers.

NOOOOO. I grew up in metal and they became the best thrash band there was. They brought it in to the mainstream and brought respectability to it. We were all a bunch of "Satanist" in the 80s if you listened to heavy metal then came Metallica. I had beer bottles thrown at me for wearing a jean jacket with buttons on it at punk concerts because they hated us. Donahue, Sally Jesse and all the like did shows on how heavy metal was a scourge. Heck Judas Priest and Ozzy had to go to court over it. I had to hide my Sabbath, Maiden, and Ozzy albums behind my speakers. When is the last time you looked at the inner sleeve of Dairy Of Madman? Or Number of the Beast? Mom would have dragged me to a exorcism

I saw Metallica on the 1987 tour when on Pendelton and they were simply amazing. Fast, clean and heavy. The albums became more refined, more heavy and better written. And Justice For All that may have been the best written heavy metal album of all time from lyrical view.
Then they sold out IMO. Nothing else matters??? Nothing else sounds good...

As far as covers from them. I love them. See garage days the original album not the redo.

I own all the cds after Justice including the latest one from a few years ago. I have seen them countless number of times.
They are a great band but the Black album broke my heart.

See example:) Man what a album.

I understand how long standing Metallica fans feel, like the band sold out.

One of my best friends was a diehard Metallica fan who gave up on the band after the Black Album.

Whenever I hear that, I think about the famous quote from former band member Newsted; "Yes, we sell out..............every seat in the house, every time we play, anywhere we play"....................

Merry Christmas All.

I have heard that as well. If you haven't yet, get a copy of his first album by his new band "Newstead"
I saw the first tour a few years ago and it is good.

Make no mistake I love Metallica and all types of music.
Within a few hours I will listen to Sam Cooke, Iron Maiden, Dean Martin, Lefty Frizzell, Ella or Frank, The Go Gos, The Police, Hank Williams (both) Black Sabbath etc.

But that black album...

Yeah, it's been a tough season for the USPS. I have books out on order that are now 2 and 3 weeks overdue according to original delivery date estimates, with tracking of no use as it just says 'in transit to next destination'. Holding my breath. -- Al
The postal delays are really starting to get on my nerves. In addition to the 3 book orders that are MIA (all by over 3 weeks now), my wife's Christmas gift is now MIA. It was due a week ago, and in fact was tracked to the Hyattsville, Md. Distribution Center (about a 40 minute drive from me) last Thursday. Since then, nothing, just the kiss of death 'in transit, arriving late'. The USPS has never failed me anywhere near this badly before, which I can somewhat understand given the situation this year. Still... -- Al
