This is a custom 1/72 scale model from SD Model Makers and it's the pride of my collection. The acft are from various makes, Corgi, Forces of Valor, Matchbox, etc. I altered the tail numbers with decals to avoid repetition and did some minor painting on some of the engine cowlings to match the air group. The crew are from a 3D printing company and I painted the figs. The island is 24" L x 16" H to the top of the radar masts. The flight deck is 36" x 18" and 23" w to the outside of the outboard elevator. Chris

Chris, this is absolutely amazing. Simply superb in all the detail, action, color, and background. Congratulations.:salute:: -- Al

This is pretty wonderful Chris. The attention to detail can be seen. Qualifies for the 'wow' factor. Cannot imagine how many hours went into accumulating the planes, figures and accessories, little lone the monetary value. Certainly a labour of love to produce this, well done. Robin.

Bloody brilliant Chris and in 1:72 scale, it must be huge! I have to ask, but is the Bunker Hill model a complete ship? It would be massive if it is.

Thanks Al, much appreciated.

Thanks Robin, it's been a fun project. I miscalculated how many acft needed. I thought I could have 3 acft across, but that would only work on the aft deck. So I have 8 F4Us "parked in the hanger deck." :rolleyes2: I was most fortunate to find the crew and tugs in proper scale.

Impressive mate.

Thanks Wayne.

That’s awesome! Well done
Appreciate that coming from another carrier man. :smile2:

And thanks to those who posted the like votes. Chris

Hi Tom, many thanks. The length of the model in 1/72 scale would be over 11' if my math is correct. I only have the island, 24" L x 16" H to the top of the radar masts, and the flight deck is 36" x 18" and 23" w to the outside of the outboard elevator. To have the entire 11' flight deck would be awesome, but outside my space and budget limits. Zach has an incredible Bunker Hill in 1:30 scale. Chris

Absolutely Fantastic, Chris!!!

Must have cost a boatload of $$$!

The planes and ship components are marvelous, but the crew really set everything off.

Green with envy,^&grin

BTW, HM makes some Avenger models for the Bunker Hill, but I think that they are three-color camo.

OMG, Chris, that is astounding! WHAT a treasure.
SD Model really make some spectacular products … and this one is the tops!!!

Even at 1/72 scale that beauty must be huge.

What is the backdrops? WOW they are perfect for the model.
What a wonderful treasure …. Congrat's

(Even if I am a bit jealous!)

Green with envy LaRRy

PS: Were the figures included or did you get them from elsewhere?

Chris,
This must be a center piece to your collection. That's my favorite pic also.

Hi LaRRy, and thanks. The background photos were downloaded and entered with Photoshop. The crew figs and tugs were essential to the dio IMO and came from a 3D printing company. There were quite a few sets to choose from and I painted them for the scene. Glad you enjoyed it. Chris
