All these figures are so good and so interchangeable that they offer up many different uses and dio scenarios. I have one dio on the go right now and can think of at least two more I want to make featuring some or all of these new figures. I think this is a very interesting and exciting sub range from K&C and I really hope we get more, suddenly with these and the Singapore sets the FOB range is on fire !

I just love ths figure, he is really evocative of the Blitz;

These two Policemen will work very nicely together in either apprehending unfortunate Luftwaffe pilots or Policing War torn London

This guy will also be seeing action in my dios from the streets of London to the fields of Kent (he's just like the NCO from UXB)

Not only is this guy going to have his work cut out guarding everything from the ME109 to the one and only Winston Churchill, but he is crying out for multiples to form a section or squad

As I work on one dio I'm planning another and this set will feature in it

I already have one of these:)

Say no more, K&C thinking outside the box again, great set

And finally the Bomb Disposal Tilly, Tilly number four for me and already pre ordered

All in all a superb set of releases and I look forward to using these figures in many different 'Home front' scenes :)

Rob I'm in total agreement! The RAF series has fast become my favorite with all this home front coming in a close 2nd!!! All of these are on my to get list & I'm hopeing we will be seeing more from the series later in the year!

Craig

Yes Rob, they are fantastic, and beyond that, as you pointed out, extremely versatile! They have a myriad of possible uses and are simply great sculpted figures. The other "thinking out of the box" surprise for me are the 2 Singapore sets. Although lacking versatility, they are, IMHO, very evocative and meaningful. They are all in my next purchase list!

I agree Rob! I branched off from the Battle of Britain series as well and have some of the bomb squad and the downed plane on order. I got the 3 piece set for Christmas with the policeman, pilot and homeguardsman. I think the two groups work brilliantly together. Maybe some day I will also acquire a destroyed building or two. I am looking to get Churchill and Dowding in the near future as well. I am also extremely glad I made it easy on myself and picked up the MG a couple of months ago!! One of these days I will get around to photos. I have the MG on base with the driver chatting with Bader and Eva Braun (she defected and became an English lady - I ordered her for just that reason^&grin).

These Battle of Britain and specifically homefront releases tied into the RAF series have quickly become another collecting interest of mine with so many excellent releases to date. These latest ones are definitely on my ever growing "buy" list. I'm excited by the future prospects of firetrucks and the like. The battle over my scarce budgetary resources between competing interests like RAF, MG, D-Day, BoB, Naps, Crusaders etc is certainly heating up and making my decisions very, very difficult indeed. ;) :p

I totally agree with all you guys here. This sub range that sits nicely alongside the RAF Range has taken on a life of its own very quickly indeed. Pehaps its because its a non combatant range, or perhaps its because of the appeal of the Home front, either way its going from strength to strength. As CFM says its the choosing between ranges that is difficult , but thats part of the fun of collecting though!:)

I like your use of Eva Braun mate, its good when you can switch a figure around from a different range and put it somewhere else. The 'for you Fritz the War is over ' set is a really good release in my view, all three are terrific figures. I'm slowly working my way through the RAF range buying every release, it takes time but is very rewarding as its such an enjoyable range.

Cheers

Rob

The bomb disposal unit is a must have .I ordered all of them except for the policeman. The policeman limits the dio possibilities to the UK (surely a must have for all you British friend), whereas the rest of the figures can also be used in liberated territory.
guy:smile2:

What do you think we will see next from the home front releases Rob? I think the only thing we know to be hinted at is the Firetruck? Hopefully they do a red version as well as the RAF version? Other then that I think we might get a police car that would sit with the bomb tiily nicely! Any other hints I've forgot about?

Craig, nope I don't think you've missed anything mate. I hope at some point Andy may make some more Home guard figures as these are pretty evocative of the period and the figure in the 'For you fritz' set is an excellent one with real character. A small set of these on guard somewhere would be most welcome. The exciting thing about this series is that it could go almost anywhere, civvies, Firemen in action, personnel on leave etc, the list of possibilities is endless. I very much look forward to whatever may come for this series in the future. With these and the Singapore sets suddenly the FOB series is the hot topic^&cool

Its great that such sets are coming through but, I always liked the FOB range as we always had very nice brit troops and some AFV's released. For me, its a range that many will have regretted overlooking

Very much agree its a great range and always has been. Whether its the German Grey AFV's like the Stug, Mk4 or Kubelwagen or the footslogging Tommies and now the UXB / shot down ME109 , its packed with great releases. Suddenly Tilly's are everywhere too! I saw one the other night in 'The Eagle has landed' get blown onto its roof. 'Eagle' is not too bad although it is pretty much a remake of 'Went the day well' with Churchill thrown into the mix , but in my view Went the day is much better.

Am now watching 'Tobruk' with Rock Hudson and George Peppard, so far its WW2 meets the A team^&grin. Hang on......George Peppard has just looked out the window and is being escorted by a British Kittyhawk, looks good in the green non desert camo, I wonder if this may be one of the two Brit planes Andy mentioned for this year?

Rob

Had Tobruk on in the background and now have ambush bay on. FOB is with the BOB the two best ranges IMO that K&C currently do and, look forward to seeing firetrucks ambulances etc filter throug. I remember some small winches in danger UXB which, would be a great accompany to the bomb set. I mean when its defused it still needs moving.

Lets hope these ranges come thick and fast!!! add a few more MG releases and we should be covered well for brit stuff

Just finished, not the best War film I've ever seen, but as you say ok in the background.

Yep looking good for Brit releases this year already, lots more to come I suspect.

Yes I'm hopeing its one of the 2 british releases this year! The Kittyhawk does look good in both green & desert camo so hopefully we will see it done in both colours!!!

A nice set of Homeguard figures would be good! Maybe stood to attention with broom handles & pitch forks instead of guns like in the old Dads Army show.

Love the new sets,do you think that's it for Tillys?^&confuse
I have seen photos of Royal Navy Tillys have included two images and i believe there are a couple of images of a Tilly in German service around Cherbourg harbour?

Also came across this website and a pdf maybe of some interest.

Nice pic Steveo, a Tilly in German naval service would be very popular I imagine as they did use a lot of captured vehicles. A Royal Navy Tilly, now that is interesting , wow that would be my fith Tilly!{eek3}^&cool

Somebody mention home guard,would love "Dads Army" licensed product but its probably too costly ?It looks like foundry miniatures have done them in 28mm and i have a Trophy set in gloss.{sm4}

Dads Army is probably my favourite tv comedy of all time, a better group of character actors it would be hard to find, however if K&C were to do more Home guard I'd prefer they were ' real' figures as it were and not tv related figures. Real Home guard figures would look much better in a dio/collection and they played a big role on the Home front. (Incidently, they were known as the LDV ' local defence volunteers' to start with, but the British public called them ' Look duck & vanish' ^&grin and the name was changed) HG guarded important infrastructure such as railways, road junctions, Gas and Water works etc and relieved regular soldier for combat duties. Their War effort which included men killed whilst on duty in accidents and air raids was mostly forgotten until Dads Army appeared. The series whilst gently mocking them and the British class system as a whole was an affectionate tribute to these men (many of who had already done their duty in WW1) who stood up and did their bit again. I think a set of these at say a road block would be very welcome.^&cool

Cheers

Rob
