Vectis Auction for the Lt. (2 Viewers)

Gents,

The nature of forums is that threads can veer off into many different areas. I think that's what makes forums fascinating.

It doesn't seem to make sense, however, to keep this excellent thread in the ebay area. Just tell us which part of the forum to which you would like it moved and we can take care of it.

I think some people thought I made my remarks as some sort of virtual spanking  but that's not the case at all. I wasn't referring to any smalltalk (gloss/matte discussions and Zulu war pics are all over the forum) but to the article that Mike never posted that was to be a thread in itself.

I think he would appreciate it if you would PM him with instructions how to get his article posted.

I also have a special feeling for the Dutch and Holland-some of my ancestors originally came from there(my family name means "dune" in Dutch).

My wife's maiden name was Conover, but it originally was something like Van Couewerhoven. It had something to do with cows! By the time of the AWI, it had evolved considerably to something shorter. She had three relatives (in New Jersey by 1776) who served in Gen. Washington's cavalry (Dragoons?). She is a native Californian (unlike me) and probably is more Irish than Dutch.

Dear Damian,

What a special experience. Not that many of us have had an opportunity to visit such a major player in the toy soldier world. Congratulations on reaching your 10th wedding anniversary. My wife and I will be celebrating our 40th next month. We are going back to Las Vegas where we were married by a drunk justice of peace. I am still not sure if we are married or not. He kept trying to marry me to Terri and my wife's name is Jean.

Best Regards

That is funny:D

It sure wasn't funny to me at the time. I was nervous enough to start with and he really made it a lot worse. I was white as a ghost in the photos and some relatives who were there thought I looked like I was going to pass out.

sorry, but it did sound funny the way you described it:eek:

Thanks for the reply Mike
I thought it looked like Imperial

Damian

Vectis sent Joe several pictures of the set, which he forwarded to me, so here are a few.
The bases have been painted brown.
There is quite a mix of manufacturers.
Both Hospital and Storehouse are included.
It went for 7 500 GBP two years ago
I wonder what it would fetch today?

Martyn (GICOP) was asking about this old auction and provided me with a link back to this old discussion. Since 2007 there has been an economic downturn but at the same time Trophy seems to be reaching ever increasing prices on e bay. The Hospital recently went for 1000 USD so I was just wondering.
We Trophy fans must get off our collective rear ends and produce a book.

I would buy such a book. Now, I notice you, Martyn and others use the code numbers. Is there some sort of listing of these numbers so that the poorly educated amongst us can follow along?
