Matt, VEH003......Any Chance we get a sneak preview or hint of the new Stalingard AFV or is it still classified info at this time;).....Thanks Vezzolf

I've recieved a lot of requests to see this vehicle and as it's now public knowledge after having been shown in the latest Toy Soldier Collector Magazine, here is an image of it.

This is not the final production piece as some parts have been changed (notably, the flag on top is different, the aerial on top and bars on the sides are thinner as we've changed them to copper, the front armor shield is thinner in production, and other minor changes such as some added stowage pieces).

Please also note that the turret turns fully, the gun can be raised/lowered, the hatch opens and closes, and the full bodied crew figure can be placed inside the hatch or outside. The undercarriage is also very detailed as well.

I hope you all like it! VEH003 will be shipping to customers in early February 2009 with a pre-order to start in late December.

Looks excellent! I have to stick to Naploeonic era per the War Department (wife) but I am really intrigued by this series, it is high art IMO

I fully agree. I know nothing about these but how does the turret rotate with those legs on top of it?

This is a wonderful release.....:)

The turret does turn as there is a swivel joint where the turret cross bar joins the overhead antenna. ;)

Superb. Looks like I'm going to have to save my pennies because I've got to have this one, I've been waiting awhile for someone to manufacture it. FL keeps on putting out outstanding product. Keep up the fine work.

Cheers
CFM :)

Matt,....Superior detail..... Amazing products....looking forward to this one...

What an absolutely fantastic looking piece. This particular Sd.Kfz.232 (8-Rad) appears to belong to 16.Panzer-Division.

The division would have been allocated 3 of these vehicles as part of the schwere PzSpah Zug (Heavy Armored Car Platoon). In addition the platoon also would have been allocated 3 Sd.Kfz.231 (8-Rad) armored cars (no frame antenna). This platoon would have been part of 1.PzSpah.Kp (1st Armored Car Company) which in turn was a part of the Kradschutzen Bataillon (Motorcycle Infantry Battalion) for the division.

Very cool!

At its employment in the Stalingrad Pocket, the 16.Panzer-Division consisted of Panzergrenadier-Regiment 64, Panzergrenadier-Regiment 79, Panzer-Regiment 2, Artillerie-Regiment 16, Panzerjager-Battalion 16, Pioneer-Battalion 16, Nachrichten-Battalion 16, 16th Divisional Support Units, and of course Kradschutzen-Battalion 16

First, thank you guys for the words of support on our rendition of the SdKfz 232. We are really pleased with how it's coming out and are glad that you guys like it.

A couple of quick points:

1. Yes, it's the 16th Panzer Division as per Frank's expert eye in such matters.
2. Air Recognition Flag - we haven't decided yet if we're going to make it removeable or glue it in place. The one that's on there in the image is only a foil one used as a placeholder. Please see the image below for the actual one used in production (same painting obviously). This image also shows the extra stowage that will ship with the set. I haven't decided yet if we're going to fix all the extras and flag in place or just provide them loose for you all to do with as you choose.

Again, the pre-order on this guy should be starting in December at some point with a ship date in early February. Our next vehicle will be entering production in January and we hope to ship that one in April or thereabouts. Lots more coming!

Best,

Matt

What scale is it....................:D....just joking looks great Matt....:)

The 232 looks fantastic. Does this mean that the Stalingrad range is moving away from the factory battles to cover other phases of the campaign?

Hi Matt,
Like your Stug, this is an excellent product and a great offering to the market.
I am hoping that the flag will be a removable option. I think there may be some collectors that will wish to purchase more than one, and a fixed ID flag could be a possible negative feature.
Keep up the good work,
