BSP is in a unique position to be just collectors and modelers, yet we get to rub elbows with the busuness end of this hobby, which gives us a very unique prospective on things. We have been receiving some PM's on various subject matters which really disturb us in many ways.

Some favor positions BSP has supported and some do not. We are not authorities on anything having to do with this hobby, if fact no one is. But we are starting to fear speaking freely and voicing opinions. It is so grave that I do not feel comfortable speaking in support of anything anymore.

We will continue to do our scenes, and some frivilous conversation, but that is as far as it will go for now.

No............... not bodily harm, just very complicated and varied issues.

Fear may be a strong word.....We are tired of the endless issues revolving around the hobby and BSP and various persons who have tried to threaten BSP's very existence and our Associations.

Many of those associations have already been destroyed and our silence in future matters will hopefully help preserve BSP. We are best at letting our work speak for us.

There is some bad karma here as of late, and we do not want to contribute to it. Dioramas and Fun is all we desire....We have to draw the line there.

No Big deal we just dont want to seem alouf when we lessen our vocal participation. We are NOT taking our ball and going home, we will continue to produce our scenes, but we will discuss very few issues. Alex

Our concepts seem to loose everyone.....Either we are too advanced for this hobby or we do not belong in this hobby, because we can really bring out the worst is those who oppose our take on things. So we will not promote our opinions any more, because it does not matter.

We are getting more into doing stuff for our own satisfaction. The whole BSP concept just breeds controversy and that is not what we are in this hobby for.

Just trying to explain this right here right now breeds contempt. We now realize there is no need to to promote our hybird hobby concept, we will just live it and enjoy ourselves the way we see fit.

So if we can get out of this conversation without making more enemies we will begin out new course.

You come to the forum and post some very interesting dioramas. Most people really enjoy them...others may not (but in this world you'll never get 100% of people to agree on anything). If you stuck with your dios, things would be just fine.

Posts like the ones you've made here baffle me. You continue to allude to some 'hidden issues' from 'enemies' that you 'can't discuss.' Frankly, I don't see anyone out to 'threaten your existance.' How can they threaten you ability to make dioramas?

You have had relationships with several on the 'business' side of this hobby...some deals work out and some don't. That's the way things work. You have made it clear that Hobby Bunker has sponsored some of your work: good for you. If they choose to do that in the future: good for you. If not: things change in business.

Vague posts like this only serve to give the impression that the 'behind the scenes' world of toy soldiers is a festering cesspool of evil. I've been in this business for a long time and know people pretty well and that has NOT been my experience at all. Are there rivalries? It wouldn't be business if there weren't.

So Alex, for the good of BSP (and the forum), I highly recommend that you refrain from these 'accusations' against 'mysterious parties.' From what I've seen it's not nearly the big deal that you make it out to be.

You guys make cool dios (as do others on the forum). Keep up the good work.

Amen to that preacher (pun intended) I do agree as well about BSP have made some killer dios, but these hidden agendas and such?? please give it a rest mate...Sammy

What disturbs me is one forum member threatening another forum member, I've not seen anyone threaten Alex here at all ever, but I understand someone was threatened here the other day. I sometimes feel that perhaps Alex feels threatened because not everyone likes his diorama's , but as Pete said Alex thats life . If I get forty or fifty posts in one of my dio threads I'm a very happy chappy, but that still means over 950 members did not post they like it!

Alex , your dio's are really very good indeed and many many people enjoy them there is no doubt. But if I may say one thing, from what I understand from the many pm's I had about it, a lot of people were not happy about you inserting your films into their threads without permission, they considered it inconsiderate and rude. If you just concentrate on the undoubted quality of your dio's and perhaps pushed a little less I think you may find a much a larger appreciation.

Just my view of course Alex, and I could be totally wrong.

Your not wrong. You are spot on.

In the thread where the argument started, Firebat reacted to a post more than a year old that not only didn't mention BSP, but didn't even allude to it. He justified his post by saying we didn't understand what went on behind the scene and would meet the guy at an upcoming toy show. That was the only threat and it was made by BSP - not against them.

The people who have complained about BSP to me in PM's have never complained about the dios. Only about the constant self-promotion, inflated ego and paranoia.

Stick to you dios and things will be fine.

JUST IMAGINE FOR A SECOND.... THAT WHAT WE ARE STATING IS TRUE.

As a city Firefighter for 33 years, do I look like one that cant handle adverse situations....Wake up men.

So as those non existent forces close more doors on us you will slowly see us fade away. (And it seems most of you will be happy).

But this is becoming more work than play anyway. That will give us more time for ourselves .....So in the end it is not a problem.

The main reason to bring this up was. We didnt want our lack of vocal participation here to seem as we were being alouf....Because we have been accused of that also.

So have fun, dont worry about us. All we would appreciate is you take this word for word, dont read into this, and understand. We are here for you, but if things continue as they are we may not be in the future.

I don't know what more I can say, except we have brought so much to this hobby, your lack of understanding dissapoints us and we resent your smug attitudes.

I suggest it is left off the forum then if you cannot discuss it. All it does is cause tension, friction and animosities here and quite frankly it is not needed. It seems all very cloak and dagger or maybe it is just a storm in a teacup. Whatever it is, let's move on and stop it with the I have a secret. It really is growing old and tiring.
