Can you two cut it out please. Frankly, I saw nothing with Oz's original post, just an observation on his part. So, please no more backbiting.

Hey Brad,i just noticed your approaching 4000 posts!.So Andy says to you "As a reward i am going to make you a one off vehicle, only one will ever be made and its yours" What do you ask for?

Rob

The armored car that carries our money to his bank

Well, well, well, I finally have you; you old lawyer you. Why stop at just one load of money? It's not the armored car anymore, its the bank routing number and bank account number along with his (Andy's) user id and password. Yeah, electronic numbers, now that's the ticket.

This is my virgin message on this or any site.K&C do a great job on there toy soldiers.Being a South east Asian company is this the reason they have not done the Vietnam series . So much good history here on both sides.I would like to see Australian and U.S soldiers in action together as the Two countrys have shared so much blood in battlefields overs the years.I have a older brother who only started to march on ANZAC day two years ago who is now proud of what he did way back then.Is there any other collectors out there who would like to see this series.Maybe if Andy at K&C can see how many there is out there he may want to run a special edition .I would love to see Long tan & kae san as limited editions. To you K&C love you work the best . Regards Tankman1.

I just took another look at the Vietnam Series by Figarti (who by the way have made some other wonderful products) they just seem to have a stark
appearance.

I can imagine manufacturing military miniatures for a diverse audience must
be a daunting task.

King & Countrys venture into the Vietnam Series was an early venture and
was limited to just 6 sets (1st offering with certificates) a Huey done in Marine, and Army markings. Two different M113's (a wooden version, and a resin and metal version) each one is unique with different equiptment and really cool writing on the vehicles. And a duster in extremely limited production.

This realitivy small Series is in my opinion often overlooked by collectors, but it is some of the finest work ever released by King & Country.....again in my humble opinion. They even released a complete Firebase (done by Gordon-Andy's talented brother) this was released two ways as a two part base, and as a four part base. They are basicly the same design but each one is unique as they were hand made.

The series turns up on ocassion, and I would certainly give it a serious look I don't think you would be disappointed.

It is for this reason that I find sites like Sagers Soldiers & Miniatures so valuable. It gives you the opportunity to view just about all the sets that have been offered.....check them all out! There are many wonderful Series that have been released. Some have been wildly popular and they are spoken about every day......others are somewhat forgotten.

Go in and see for yourself, choose what you like, and join the hunt. Another delightful benefit is unlike most other Manufacters the King & Country items have increased in value over the years. This is an added benefit because should you change your mind and decide to shift your focus to another Series you will be able to do it with little damage to your financial position.

A benefit rarely shared by other manufacters.

I really enjoyed the post. Do you have the "Duster"? I would love to see some pictures of those vehicles other than those posted on Uncle Bill's Wonderful Site.

Thanks,

Dear Beaufighter,

Take a look on the thread with the museum. On my firebase diorama is the M48 Duster, between the two M113 APC's.

These are pictures I had taken last year at Louis' house. Seemed like a good time to bring them up again.

Wife and I are enjoying Provence (Watching a Good Year)

After the movie I will take a few shots of the M113's and send them to you

if you like, they are wonderful......adorned with phrases like "bomb Hanoi"...

"bomb Jane Fonda" each one unique truely my favorite items.

I do not have a duster I believe Louis and Andy have the only ones

produced.

Even the figures are unique with their various gear and messages scrawled

on their helmets, it makes an impressive display on the Firebase.

Njja:) :)

Brad has just posted some wonderful photos of Louis Firebase, Huey, and

armoured column you can clearly see the attention to detail. It would be at

home in any Great Museum or Collection (such as Louis's).

You may note it is the two part Firebase, Louis reciently acquired a four part

base (he outlasted me) which I believe he gave to a friend.

Should you wonder why I would bid on a second it is simple.....I like items

as nice as I can find them, my intention was to pick up an additional Firebase

put together the best one possible then pass the other to another collector.

I have often done this putting together the nicest train set. It can be

difficult obtaining a single car, it is often easier to buy another entire set, put

together what you need and pass the rest along.

The important point to remember is not to make the item so expensive that it

is not practical, thus common sense must prevail.

May I say, that these items are so magnificantly done that should you have

the opportunity to add one to your collection you give it serious thought.

Njja:) :)

I will be going to Louis' house next Thursday or Friday in advance of the Symposium so I'll see if I can take some more photos of the firebase, hopefully a little clearer than last year.

Well said Brad. There are traps for the unwary when it comes to most collectables, and King & Country is no exception. It's true that the two part K & C Vietnam dio that Jazzeum has shown there is well detailed. But imo the smaller six part K & C Firebase dio is not nearly as good. I would recommend that "Simpson & his Donkey" contact Louis if he desires reliable info on these early K & C products.

Here's a pic of some Figarti Vietnam figures, they don't look stark to me.

Here are a couple of shots of some of the M113's. You can see the detail,

both on the vehicles and the troopers!

Thanks for showing the pics of the M113's. I really love them only if I had one. I bet you are a happy owner.
