Vikings (1 Viewer)

I just looked up the description of "The Blood Eagle", now I now why Jarl Borg had that look on his face when he heard he was getting it. Anyone kissing and talking to his dead wife's skull ain't right anyway.

Paul...one you mention of Googling..."The Blood Eagle"...I too understand why he had that look on his face...thanks for the idea of Googling it...

Alfred the Great with David Hemmings and Michael York
had a demo of the Eagle death method.

Perfect casting on the older Bjorn its almost like they waited 4 years for the kid to age...Then started filming again.
Not to keen on the scrawny 2nd wife.......Oh Lagertha is the one.

Watched first 5 episodes this past weekend.Got 2,3 episodes after Thursday to watch this weekend to catch up.Can't
get enough of this once I start watching them. The History channel with Vikings and Hatfields and McCoys and Discovery Channel with Klondike prove period shows can do well if done right. Now we will see how TURN makes out. Most seem to like this but there are a few on other forums that don't like the liberty the writers have taken with this, especially the Rogers and Simcoe characters.Oh yeah and the wigs not being correct.^&grin I haven't watched it yet so I can't say. Will watch it after the Vikings this weekend.

Hi Guys,

I am currently watching Turn and so far its very interesting. I hope it does well. Vikings is a great time as well! Ragnar is a badass! I also agree that the first wife is much easier on the eyes...

Watched Klondike as well and enjoyed it but was left wanting more when it was over. Maybe they will do some more shows like this. Game of Thrones is awesome so far this season especially since I was so waiting for the wedding to happen and see Joffrey kick off. While they don't exactly follow the books they are close enough for me and I am really enjoying the show.

I've only found this show in Season 2 but I really enjoy it. The costuming and sets are great! Ragnar looks a bit like a bikie but it's good to see no Hollywood cliches. Anytime I can see a long boat is good. I find the dialogue a touch hard to follow at times though. It's a pretty raw portrayal of them, the betrayal of Jarl Borg was grim stuff. Not that he was a good guy himself, indeed few of these people are very likeable at all. With the exception of the blonde servant girl Bjorn's after!

RAGNAR RULES!!!

great ending to this season...

Watched the marathon to catch up on series, and though it is my kind of historical drama, I would not buy it, because I am not a Ragnar fan. ( totally without honor ). Ever notice in battles with the English, vikings never die but have a 10 to 1 kill ratio. Only in viking vs viking conflict are their losses fairly distributed. Michael

Yeah I can't believe that the Saxons were that bad in fighting as their reputation during the 4th through 8th centuries was anything but that.

Well that,s it for 2014 have to wait till next year for the new season, great last episode.

Just saw the season 2 finale tonight - it was great! A few surprises and lots of blood. It was really tense there too. This show really gets atmosphere right. Almost the whole time there's a brooding undercurrent of simmering violence. I see a Season 3 starts filming next month - good news.
