First two episodes have been pretty gruesome and the new virus threat is an evil twist. Now, who is feeding the zombies and, with the virus, is the new threat from within? The new group is getting thinned out pretty fast. The killing pace has really picked up. -- Al

The flu angle is an interesting twist, bad enough they have to dodge zombies, now they have to make sure they use hand sanitizer while they do it.

I always wondered if the flying blood would be a bad thing as it's coming from zombies who are infected, but then again it's been made clear everyone in fact has the virus.

Now they also have someone from within who's feeding the zombies and taking matters into his own hands and killing off members of the group.

This is all getting a bit much for me, all we need now for total chaos is for the governor to show up again.

I think one thing is certain, the governor will make a dramatic entrance at some stage during this session. What they could do with right now is a decent tracked vehicle, like a bulldozer to clear the fence-line or dig a trench.....that fence is not going to last forever.{sm2}

I think the new twists have made the prison setting a lot more interesting. It got a little stale in season 3. Still think the gang needs to hit the road in order to find help/hope and really open up story lines. Of course, one needs to reduce the number of people if they hit the road, unless they go with a kind of "Wagon Train" theme. Where is Ward Bond when you need him? Also, I am beginning to think that Herschel may be the one who finished off the infected members via the bonfire. -- Al

I think it is the Governator that is feeding them. He's a twisted SOB !! I think it is him who burned those last two people.

My sense is that they needed a good scripted reason to leave the " safe " haven of the prison..No viewer would have been content to see a permanent community of happy go lucky, lovey dovey survivors every single episode. The threathened fences, the virus within will drive the remaining group into the wilds where all the zombie fun happens anyways..Also did anyone note the trailer for the next episode..group in car facing 7500 walkers..^&grin. Also, the word is that a second Walking Dead series is in developement with a different cast in a different localle. My guess to be run while the original is on hiatus..Michael

Interesting......yeah time to leave I think, but where to.......

All the trauma inside the (suppoedly) safe haven makes me stressed! I would think there would be plenty of excitment to be had without making the prison so dangerous. No prison, even one with a garden, is self sufficient. This should necessitate frequent foraging trips outside the confines. As we saw in episode 1, those can be quite dangerous.

Surely a visit to the local Home Depot is in order for fence building supplies, water treatement, generators, tools, etc. Can you ever have enough duct tape and WD-40???? :)

Guys, I watched the first season of this and although pretty gruesome quite enjoyed it, but somehow I missed out on next two seasons, worth catching up you reckon???

Rob, if you enjoyed the 1st season, you'll like the 2nd and 3rd. The writers don't let the grass grow and character turnover is pretty constant. -- Al

I liked season 2 better than 3, but there are more hits than misses concerning episode plots which makes them overall worth getting..By the way, the Brits made a great Zombie mini series, " Dead Set ", which I recomend to anyone and everyone..Michael

Thanks Al, I think I might do some catching up.:smile2:

The longer this series goes on, the question for me is why would anyone want to live through this, ie, if I was in the middle of it up through this point, I'd be losing the will to live.

What is the point; it's not like the zombies will be killed off anytime soon, the latest promo for next weeks episode shows a horde of 7,500 zombies surrounding the car.

What sort of world are you living in, it's not normal by any standard, it's a constant, daily struggle to not get bitten, now there's a flu epidemic running through the survivors at the prison.

Talk about a bleak outlook, although the gibberish they picked up on the car radio could be an interesting angle going forward.

I'm getting to the point where I could care less about character development and I just want to see zombies attacking as much as possible................not sure how many more seasons this series will have, but the ending ought to be interesting.

It is a very bleak story with little, if any, hope. When the end does come, I hope the writers stay true to the bleakness and wipe out the whole lot. Maybe let Karl escape, tearing off into the distance in a liberated Shelby Cobra. -- Al

I think I would try to get to the coast and sail to a uninhabited island.I think that would be the only chance to live. The Zombies are starting to die on their own are they not? Maybe some kind of plague will wipe them out.

^&grinNow you're talkin' Al, only question is will it be in the nimble high revving 289 or a tire shedding 427. :wink2:

They really need to get out that prison, it's gotten stale just like Greens Acres did in season 2. And if and when the Governator makes his reappearance with his phoney accent, over acting melodramatics I hope it's just long enough for Michone to lop of his head ... that'd put a quick end to that crappy tune he likes to whistle.

At least the zombies are starting to take center stage again, after all isn't that what a Zombie Apocolyse is all about.

They tried that in the Dawn of the Dead remake (which I thought was excellent by the way); it didn't work out too well for them....................

Yeah, I remember another Zombies on an island movie called Shockwave. Can't trust zombies in an island environment. Just no place to be caught as there is no line of retreat. I doubt even 5-0 could have saved Hawaii in a zombie apocalypse. Surprised Wofat never thought of that. -- Al

I totally agree George, it is quite depressing in the land of the WD. The survivors are being attacked from without, within, and even within their own bodies. Being in a state of constant warfare is not something most people can sustain for very long.

I suspect that most people, in such a situation, would not become utter savages. They would quickly realize that the best hope for ongoing safety lies in numbers. We all have to sleep sometime.

The number one priority for the group should have been from day one, I think, an extremely secure perimeter. Surely that means more than relying on a dilipadated fence to keep the zombie hordes at bay.

Well, I was wrong about Herschel and the answer as to who the murderer was isn't really surprising. A somewhat benign episode tonight. -- Al
