War Park New Release in May -- German Armored Train Panzerzug Typ BP42 (1 Viewer)

We had planned to produce a large number of US army figurines. However, unexpectedly, the 3D modeler we found was extremely unreliable, resulting in significant delays in our progress.
What a shame, and, to make matters worse, it had to happen to the US Army figurines !.
Therefore, we still need to be very patient to get allied items .....

I hear ya, but you have to admit, this is a very unique item and surely a challenging undertaking.
Certainly, I agree, it's an impressive model.

In the same vein, to satisfy the German fan club, why not also the giant rail-mounted guns "Gustav" and "Dora", or the giant rail-mounted mortars "Karl" ?.

I reckon the Gustav and Dora rail guns are just way too mammoth, so not sure what your point is or just sarcasm. The Karl has been done in this scale. As far as the "German fan club" label, maybe that applies to some folks, but it's a dead horse, so I'm trying to respond without reviving it yet again. German engineering certainly captivates a lot of collectors with the armor innovations / paint variants, variety of weaponry, different uniforms, etc that often had no Allied equivalents (by Allied choice). I want more Allied stuff too, but have accepted in this hobby German stuff will dominate especially in these times when manufacturers don't necessarily have the luxury of exploring lower sales platforms at the depth they would like to. With that being said, although not proportionate to German output, there actually has been vast Allied releases from K&C, FL, WB, and CS. There were Figarti's numerous Allied offerings in the past too that can be found on the secondary market. Xuan Hua's Russian tanks look amazing. I'm sure you pounced on one of those.

Regarding the giant rail guns, originally it was indeed sarcasm, but I wouldn't be surprised if a brand one day produced such models since the German market is so" bankable".
I know that thankfully several brands have released Allied figures and tanks.
And I particularly want to commend King and Country which has the widest variety of items in this area, especially regarding the British army which is often underrepresented.
However, based on the photos on the forum, I find there's a glaring size discrepancy between their vehicles (are they undersized ?) and their figures (are they oversized ?).
About Figarti, having never seen one of their models, I'm not sure what to think of the quality.
For now, I prefer JJD (with the interesting aspect of having part of the interior), WB and FL.
Xuan Hua looks quite nice but is very difficult to buy.
Otherwise, I completely agree with you, for many reasons the German army has an undeniable attractive side.
Personally, I'm a big fan of elaborate late-war tank camouflage like the "ambush scheme."
But some new El Alamein British tanks, a nice Russian JS-2, JSU-122/152 with crew in Berlin, ETO British infantry, and Russian tank riders would be so great !.

Interesting to see the loco finally finished. That’s another head turner. Seeing the flatcar which is out of production is a little frustrating. Still say, WP could sell a heap of these flatcars if they were re-released. Robin.

I am not looking forward to anyone making a Russian WW2 train.

It would probably be a 2 man railroad handcar accompanied by 24 figures that never sell.

Well I have been banging on about flatcars for ages, so I better order a couple this time round. Well done WP. 😀. Robin.

Happy to see another flatcar... but would really like to see a re-issue/re-release of AX014, the German Railway SSyms 6-axle 80t Flatcar, or a new release with different stenciling, as this was the only flatcar capable of handling the Tiger I, King Tiger, Elefant/Ferdinand, etc. I was fortunate to order two direct from War Park the day it was announced, but i should've picked up a third one. It just looks so "wrong" to have these armored vehicles on the "standard" 4-axle flatcars I have from the Figarti Reichsbahn series...Screenshot_20260528_003406_Brave.jpg20260320_204246.jpg

Agree, the original flatcar was a substantial piece, whereas this new one is fairly basic and no doubt more cost effective. My choice would be a re-issue of the first one, but a least WP are trying to satisfy its customers. Robin.

Looks like the BP42 has sold out on the War Park homepage. (To purchase direct from the company.) I checked a few minutes ago and Julie at Treefrog still has it listed as available for Pre-order. I know she said in her "Rivet News" from yesterday that she would take it off the site once her allocation was met. Have not checked Hobby Bunker or Minutemen web sites so not sure of their availability there still. Hopefully this is a good sign that it has sold extremely well and they will finish the production of the unarmored locomotive previously posted by them with an original release date of "in 2025" but now unknown, as well as produce the other railcars that make up the full BP42 Armored train. The other railcars are more straight forward/less complicated and would hopefully be easier to produce. Screenshot_20260529_232801_Brave.jpg
