For those wondering Dogpatch was the name given by the Marines to a shanty town / village just outside Da Nang !

And the advertisement the old fella is looking at is for a drug for Intestinal Worms, which were contracted by US troops as well as being widespread in the locals ! {sm2}

Not so much for the frontline Grunts apparently not being at the Base long enough to enjoy the dubious lures I read, seem they felt pretty let down as it was fine for the REMF as the combat Marines called them amongst other things, who got time to spend there and the PX to make life at a Base a bit more comfortable.
