Congratulations Ron :D

Btw, if anyone has a spare I know a guy downunder that would like one ;)

Well, sometimes you have to reconsider your options so I'll bid $73.00.

Are any of these bids binding, b/c when I typed my message, I never got the submit bid disclaimer????!!!:p:eek:

Just kidding Jazz and Ron, good luck to both of you,

TD

Making it personal now - Brad ?

Ron, this is not personal and I would have liked this figure as (except for the very early AK figures ) I have every AK and EA set put out. The Desert War is something I deeply like and I would have loved to have this figure.

However, just to show you that it is not personal, I will, in the spirit of friendship, withdraw my bid.

If anyone has one they'd like to sell, please contact me.

Not to jump in here opinion wise, but if this is an auction, its not personal. Anybody can feel free to bid whatever they would like, just business, not personal.

In bowing out, my reasoning is that really $50 to $60 plus ship is all the figure is worth to me, I was just making light of the fact Ron was winning the bid.

But, I don't think anyone should take offense to being out bid, it happens to me all the time!!!! and I am sure I have sniped some of you too. Which reminds me, there is still 1 day left here, so any "snipe" is still possible!

It doesn't pay to bid early when there is a definitive end......the high bidder still wins regardless of time of bid.

Respectfully torturing the forum and bidders,

TD

All very true Tom but I don't want to make it appear as if I was being petty, which is why I withdrew the bid. If I don't get the figure, it's not the end of the world. I've lost many an auction for some rare thing, sometimes by a penny, and after you rant for a minute or two, you forget about it.

Agree Brad, boy you should hear me at home when I am actually in the position to bid in the last 20 secs and still get outbid in the last 5 secs. Have to keep the yelling to a minimum so the wife doesn't figure out what I am doing............!!!

TD

And how about the heart racing when you're in the lead or you get set to make that last second bid only to find out pat44rouge has beaten you once again?:D

Yup, Pat does win more than most! Best thing to do is track what he buys b/c then you know the next time, you should be in the clear! He must have 1gigantic collection...... I wonder if he is planning a heist on Louis's collection as that is about the only collection out there that still has pieces he doesnt!

TD

Btw, I read the one cent extra bid from Brad as being purely for fun which is why I LOL.

Tom

My post was in jest - which is why the little face was at the end of it.

It seems every little thing these days are either taken out of context or someone looking for a fight.

Brad and I certainly have our differences - but, like you said - "Its an Auction" so anyone can bid whatever - no probs for me.

I too have been gunned down by the Pat44 - the Flying Frenchman ! - he has more kills than the Red Barron. ;) - That is some of the trill of ebay - hitting the update button and watching a stop watch

So Brad - fair is fair - if you want it keep your bid. But, look out for those last seconds......:p

I don't really care about the figure, but where can I get one of those guard towers? How about some more pics of that? And where can I get one?

Ron,
no worries, I figured you were kidding, I was just having a little fun with the thread too!

Pat, the Flying Frenchman, that made me LOL, that was great, his bidding really does seem like that!

TD

Just so we all know where we stand The Flying Lobbyist currently has the lead bid with $72.99.

Ron,

It is true, we may have had our differences but my offer was genuine and in the spirit of friendship and to resolve any differences. I wish you luck in winning this figure.

Regards,

This thread is extremely interesting to view and keep tabs on. I too have lost out on items via the snipe bid and as Tom and Brad have pointed out, the ranting and raving afterward is pretty comical.

One time I was bothered by it so much I tossed and turned all night; the kicker was the sniper was a friend of mine who did not recognize my Ebay handle or else he wouldn't have sniped me (or so he claimed).

Really facinating stuff; we're up to 76.00 for a figure that was given at the show as a gift, nice return on that investment, 100%................
