Being mainly into collecting WWII , just wondering what people think of the WWII range release over the past few months.
Going back I think the highlights for me were the AK Tiger tank, The repainted AK panzer in grey, the French resistence and out of this month probably the grey uniformed photographers.
Not completely bowled over by the camo frocked early SS, they are good but the poses are kinda of familiar. Having said that I do like WS111 the 3 figure set with the grey SS collars sticking out the top of the frock and the double sided camo on the roll-up sleeves.:)
Any thoughts on what else may be in the works?

I share the same idea of the new SS, Not completely bowled over by the camo frocked early SS, they are good but the poses are kinda of familia nothing really new...maybe next month...:(

I Am With You, I Am Dissapointed With The Color Scheme, They Almost Look Like Those Early Britains Figures From 8 Or 9 Yrs Ago. They Just Don't Look Right And The Poses Could Be Better. There Are Plenty Of Reference Books Out Ther With Color Photos And If I Am Going To Pay 29 A Figure At Least Get Them Right. Andy Has Been Coming Out With Some Great Stuff Lately But Its Almost Like This Isn't His Product.

I agree, I'm not as blown away by these guys as I thought (and hoped) I would be. I got into this hobby partly due to seeing pictures of K&C SS sets so I always look forward to new figures in this range. However, the appeal of this lot is lessened for me due to a combination of various little niggles regarding camo and weapon accuracy and weapon and pose originality. There's still a few nice figs in the bunch though, and WS111 is probably the best set of the lot. Debrito, I guess you and I need to take our Eastern Front troops when we can get them, even if they are somewhat uninspiring, 'cause they only come around every so often unfortunately.

For me the highlights over the last few months have been Arnhem and the Bulge and also the AK Tiger. The quality of the Bulge/Arnhem figures is really good and these ranges go from strength to strength.I like the new SS troops but they may have to wait as i have to catch up on some stuff first.

As for whats coming next i am most excited about the D Day releases June/July.As a lot of Brit/US D day figures have been retired recently i am hopeful for some replacements and reinforcements.

Agreed Rob, here's hoping for some D-day Commonwealth (ideally including a Canadian or two), or more US troops.

And maybe as the Churchill has gone we may get some armour to back them up?

I have a question - I dont collect them - but, is there any other Toy Soldier Manufacturer making WWII Eastern Front figures ?

My WW2 highlight has to be the retooled M24 Chaffee. Not only is the real tank a personal favorite but the model is EXTREMELY nice. Otherwise the Kraut stuff leaves me cold.

Cheers Gary:

I must agree as the K&C Chaffee (both versions) has quickly become my late 2007-early 2008 favorite by a wide margin!

Great question Ron:

The only thing that comes to mind is/was the Britains Stalingrad line. Off to do some homework now. Did you get your 1:32cdh98 Mosquito yet by the way?

It seems that is not a good seller WWII Eastern Front figures. I am a big collector and admirer of the Eastern Front WAR. But most of toy soldier’s collectors are from USA and Great Britain who will be interesting more in the Africa and West front………:(:(

I think Andy is easing us into the Eastern Front (with the Cossack CF and the Handschar 13th SS Division Figure CF) you may find that there is more of a market out there as he expands the range and I would be one who personally welcomes it as in my humble opinion this is where the second world war was fought and won. However what do I know?

I loved you POST...But don't forget that is a business and they have to sell. If you look most of the suggestions here were and are about demands on have new Afrika Corps or English 8th Army, nobody or almost ask for European East Front....

I my country we have a proverb that say, the voice of the people is the voice of GOD... if we don't ask we will not get....

Well Honor Bound has done a number of sets that work excellently for Eastern Front. They are also coming out with a new Russian set. Most of their tanks work for that theatre too. So they are probably the 2nd stop for East Front collectors.

Collector's Showcase did a small Kursk SS range but it was in the larger scale. Their new Arnhem SS would work too.

Several of Figarti's Tiger tanks with the detailed interiors were in Eastern Front markings, and their new Panzer IV and troops work well for it.

Many other manufacturer's German figures (e.g. Patriot and Britains), while not necessarily labelled as East Front, work fine.

Basically if you're interested in this theatre (the ultimate battleground in WW2!) you have to learn to pick and choose from many manufacturers.

The short barrelled Stug and the Elephant were absolutely terrific. The Elephant (IMO) was one of the most interesting and unique vehicles of the war. How about a Russian marked T-34/76 and a Brit Cromwell.

Not yet - but it will be coming soon. :)

Back a few months my fav was the Hummel which was sadly retired early, but the recent Gray Panzer !V and the Olive Chaffee have surpassed it in detail and downright visual appearance.

I only collect German gear so the Chaffee is out but I still can't make up my mind to get the A/Korps Mark IV or the recent Gray version. I presently have two shelves full of K & C and Collectors Showcase A/Korps gear and frankly my collection now looks to beige.

With the new early SS camo guys I can see a few gray vehicles coming to balance things out, but I just like that desert stuff
