What do you consider to be TCS's best AFV to date? (1 Viewer)

Matt; Get the reloading set to go with the Jagdpanther; it makes a very interesting display. I posted a photo of it on the TCS thread earlier. The Jagdpanther is Brian's best piece of armor to date IMHO! I agree with a prior comment that the green is a bit bright. I repaint anything I don't like. Acrylics from Tamiya are easy to use and clean up with water. Brian used a darker green on the Stug III; which I display next to the Jagdpanther. The darker green is much better; but the Dunkelgleb is off a bit on the Stug!

I have the King-Tiger reloaders, is that the same set? I also have the Sturmtiger loader set, another great set. The Green colouration may vary as none of my TCS Normandy models have the bright Green issue, or maybe I've got used to it over the years. I did suggest using chalk dust or whatever to tone it down for those affected.

And the command figure with the pipe and map is my all time favourite as well mate.

Yes, he's a cool dude isn't he. My guy must have lost his map, or maybe it's in the box somewhere. It'll have to wait as all my models are packed in moving cartons and stored down in Der Bunker under the house.

Yes it is the same set. The rear hatch on the JP opens the same as on the KT; so the set works well with both.

I have recently doubled my collection of TCS armour. Enjoy!

the Marders they did for Arnhem were the best things they made

I picked these two TCS Panzers because the Tiger I was the only 1/30th Panzer Brian has done; The 2008 Arnhem Tiger with full crew.
The Stug III is 1/28th as you can see from the TCS Sepp Deitrick figure standing beside it.The figure stands 68mm tall! The figure has a removable base; very versatile. I would be hard pressed to choose which of these are best; but sense they are effectively two scales, I will consider the Tiger I the Best TCS 1/30 and The Stug III the best TCS 1/28 Panzer. I consider the Stug and the JagdPanther too close to call for best 1/28 TCS Panzer; but I have both, so I don't have to choose.

Jack did you repaint the tank ?

Very kind of you to think I could even open the tin. I think the other Brisbane guys would laugh at the thought. I outsource all jobs that require talent. Fitzgibbon did this and I like the result. I know many tank collectors like lots of detail and are very aware of inaccuracies but it was a little bit of an eye opener for me what a repaint could do on a solid little model. The TCS Stuart was the cheapest of its type on the market but I knew that it would be repainted. It was sourced especially for a largish jungle diorama so it was never going to be the centrepiece.

I now suspect that the talented painters would not be keen to pay more for a vehicle with a better paint job. They may well like to pay less for one without any paint given what they can do. I now take a bit more of an interest in threads with repainted vehicles. I am even tempted to look for a 'cheap' vehicle (if there is such a thing) and try my hand at it.

My favorite is the winter tiger with the zimmerit coating. The tiger and panther is a great value at about $150. Great job by CS.

The TCS Kingtiger is huge. 13.7" long X 5.7" wide X 3.9" high. Makes the K&C Kingtigers look like 1/35 scale models in comparison. I like the fact that the rear hatch opens. The reloading crew is a great set to go with the Kingtiger. The Panzer Kommander looks really good. Brian does great Panzerwaffe figures IMO.

I was rearrangeing my Panzers and I think one of Brians best efforts has been his Panzerwaffe figures. No one has done figures with such superb dynamic poses. The Panzer Kommanders, reloading sets and personality figures are very realistic. Tall lean and mean; not short, fat and with big jug ears! The Sepp Detrick and George Patton figures are excellent by any standard IMO. I wish Brian would release the Battle of the Bulge Patton figure again individually and release a new Joachaim Piper individual figure. Piper would look great standing on the deck of your King Tiger conferring with the Panzer Kommander Wayne!
