What is your favorite beer? (1 Viewer)

That's a great post, it sounds like something out of a Western.

"Barkeep, gimme a Black Butte, and smile when you do!"

Prost, beianand!
Bradley

Sorry Comrade but out west we don't pronounce Butte and Butt the same. We wait for visiting easterners to do so

I sometimes get my best display ideas after drinking a handy 48 pack!

I like Stouts. Guiness being my favorite. I used to buy Sam Adams Cream Stout but cant find it anymore but, they've gotten too expen$ive anymore so for the most part I usually buy Yengling(sp) Black and Tan. I like my Bourbon best of all though. Good old Henry Mckenna.

Old Dominion Brewing Co. in Virginia brews a bourbon barrel stout, using barrels they buy from the Jack Daniels distillery. The oak imparts a bourbon flavor to the beer as it is lagered, it's excellent. The best of both libations!

Prosit!

Beer AND Bourbon, sounds good to me ;) :D

They also do a "Bishops Finger"! :D Not kidding......it's a very nice brew.

Yeah, I've tried it.
How about some of those winter brews you get in Suffolk and Norfolk. I'm especially thinking of Abbot Ale....I can't remember the last time I "lost" a couple of days in a more pleasant way...:D:D:D

Cheers

Count me in Beer and Bourbon...........Beers like lighter (not strength) asian less gasie beers (Tiger, Singha, etc) and interject with a nice JD or Jim Beam Black.

If doing spirits on their own like Candian Club with a diet coke or straight on ice!!!

ooohhhh too early too early!!!:D

Well - considering I had my first beer(s) in 15 years when I went to England in May - I'd have to say my favorites are whatever Bitter happens to be on tap at an English Pub.. The House brew at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem in Nottingham was outstanding as was the Bitter I had at a pub with Jeff, near Crowborough.. BTW, Jeff, do you remember the name of that pub?

As an aside - - - Jeff was a most excellent host as he put up with 6 of us for an entire day of sightseeing..Bodiam Castle, the town of Rye and Battle Abbey. Thx again Jeff, and there should be a little token of our appreciation winging it's way to you in the near future!

Now back to the topic of beer - I look forward to hoisting my next beer with Jeff, the next time I come to England. Simon - perhaps this time we'll be able to have a bitter at the "Olde Trip"!

Nearly forgot this one!......Old Fart  :D....I joke not. Has two old geezers on the label, I've only ever seen this as a bottled beer and not on draught.

Try not to except great occassions , then it's water beer like Coors or such. Too much makes the hands shake , causing havoc on the shelves. Mike

This is very true.On the night before the London show i'd had a few whiskies with some friends.Next morning i'm at the Figarti tables talking to Clive. The new Panzer MKIV is there with riders and the bike loaded on the back,i accidentally knock one of the riders off of the tank,my hand was shaking and everytime i tried to put him back on the tank i sent another guy flying off again!.Good job Clive has a sense of humour!!;)

Hi Jim,

I think it was The Best Beech Inn? it was nearer to Wadhurst than home. The beer was in fact the Best Bitter brewed by Shepherd Neame.
I don't know about putting up with you? it was a super day out, have you managed to download the many hundreds of photos you took?

Jim,
I'll look forward to it, and showing you the other haunts around Nottingham, just sorry that circumstances prevented a meet up. Glad you enjoyed Ye Olde Trip.
