One King & Country set and a John Jenkins set. I have been after both for a while for a good price and I got both off ebay this week for a deal.

A nice little combination. This is one I painted up a number of years ago, I am guessing late '90s. I particularly liked, the dog as it looked really miserable.
I think it was by the Spanish company Andrea in a Retreat to Corunna Series.(I kept the painting instructions but not the box.) In the original form the 2 figures and the hound were on a different base, it had the forward edge of an embankment and a section of bridge.
Sorry my tech skills do not allow the posting of a picture.

It did come with the base you describe but I wanted it flat so it could go alongside other figures. The base is still the bridge but textured to represent grass.
I was delighted to get it.

Two more came in today.
What a surprise! The USPS tracking showed expected delivery on Monday.
But, when standing in my front yard today, suddenly a USPS truck drove up and handed over a little package to me, coming in from Treefrog :smile2:
The latest additions for the JJD Conquest of America line, the Aztec General and a Spanish Conquistador with Sword and Buckle.
Both of them are outstanding figures, very well done, both in sculpting and painting.

Hello John,

I replied to Major Busgen's posted earlier, see 3250. However having now checked my memory now believe Beneito Miniaturas Spain made the original figures.
Beneito's website is still showing a related figure to their Retreat to Coruna series. It is a rifleman trudging through snow carrying two Baker rifles. The link is:-

if interested.

I completed painting these castings yesterday. They come from a fellow Treefrogger, Andrew, (Sandringham39) and are recasts of an original Roy Dilley set ( he apparently, originally made these for his son as a Xmas present). Andrew has resurected these with permission - as a limited edition run - which can be purchased both painted and as castings.

See it her: https://www.replicametalsoldiers.co.uk/new-pagetypes-of-the-military

The set is titled "Life in the Army - The Garrison Christmas Waits" - and depicts a mid-Victorian band of Christmas carolers in front of a Christmas tree, in a Garrison somewhere, being conducted by a another Guards Officer.

I chose castings - and they turned out like this. jb

It has been a good week around here. I have been collecting the USMC and WP series lately and thought for sure I was going to miss the the JJD Romans and the Bunker Hill cause I can only spend so much. And I knew that was going to be a mistake. These are stunning. Well one of the 8 figure sets popped back up on TF so...

Everyone at Tree Frog worked some magic to get me a gate as well. Thank Thank Thank You.Then the my wife said she would buy the Corsair as a Bday gift.
It's been a good week.
