I just received my first order from Tommy Atkins. I have not been able to photograph them yet due to three days of incessant rain so I have included the website picture. I have just started with Britains glossies but these are my first step away from the 'big' manufacturers. They are certainly different - both because they are glossies and in their poses and sculpts. I really like them, perhaps because they are so different. I also enjoyed the experience of dealing with a smaller company with a very different product, at least to my inexperienced eye. They were nice to deal with and dropped a 10 percent voucher in with the order!

Wonderful sets, Jack.
Congratulations to getting into the glossy world, and Tommy Atkins sets are a great start.
I do have some similar (medical) sets from the old Britains Premier and enjoy them a lot.

Temptation should either be embraced or avoided - like the Nile Steamer, I must avert my eyes from this set! Looks great!

Thanks - I am going to order a couple more beds and try to make a hospital interior. I must confess that I have, in the past, disparaged glossies. Forgiveth me Lord, for I was wrong.

Very nice, just a real shame such great sets can't be done in matte as well, I know people like glossy and all power to them but for the life of me I can not understand why the option of a matte finish can't be offer as standard practice, surely it would result in increased sales.
Wayne.

Picked up this retired King&Country Fallschirmjager set the other week. Very nicely done. Now I want to get the other FJ sets to go along with this one :rolleyes2:

A couple of eBay finds for my painting queue, a pair of Stadden castings, Prussian grenadiers:

Stadden_Prussian_grenadier_3.jpg

Stadden_Prussian_grenadier_Rgt12.jpg

Awaiting a dip in SuperClean to remove the old paint and primer. The painted figure has a label underneath his base, identifying him as a grenadier from Infantry Regiment Nr. 26, but that's incorrect, his cap plate and facings are from Regt. 12. No matter, I'm going to repaint him.

Prost!

Buying JJD items is a bit like opening a tube of Pringles. Once you pop.....................!!!

Maclaren 2 edit 1_filtered edit 2 1.jpg

But unlike eating Pringles, you don't become obese.

Just broke! And you can't stop eating them, either.{eek3}{sm3} -- Al

I know Al. My Paypal account is in a very parlous state, so much so that I have literally just this minute asked for an ambulance to be sent, which is on its way very soon.......a Model T from 1918{sm5}

Got these Thirty Years War figures by Kronprinz yesterday.
Very pleased with them :smile2:, the sculpting and painting is great!

I have my doubts that a 1918 Model T Ambulance is going to do much to alliviate the money hemorrhaging problem we both seem to be having.{eek3}^&grin:wink2: -- Al

Just a couple more purchases recently, 1:18 F4U Corsair and 1:32 F4 Black Knight.

I had been looking for a Maxim Gun on an Infantry carriage to add to the collection for some time {bravo}}

Cheers
