I understand there are issues in Russia (War) China ( more Covid-19 lockdowns) but beginning to wonder will we see anything released this year? I know there were a few things last Month but here we are going into June shortly yet I noticed K&C, T. Gunn, J Jenkins are releasing new stuff at a regular pace?I did receive a message from Constantine that there are plans for WWII this year, but no specifics, anyway fingers crossed that there are new releases rather sooner than later.

I've been wondering the same thing, Sammy. I'm glad I decided to start collecting Jenkins' figures and specifically their ACW line. Haven't seen anything out of First Legion in a long time.

I'm waiting for the release of the FPW Prussian artillery set. Should go well with the "Team" FPW series.

There are a lot of releases in the pipeline, things are a bit problematic right now regarding production and transportation/bringing the goods to market.

You can't compare the First Legion production situation with other manufacturers, it's apples to hand grenades.

The releases are coming, so dial down the "First Legion is on the way to TCS" talk.

You guys are funny. I cannot keep up with all the new releases. Next is AWI, Seven Years War and Franco Prussian War. WWII is in the pipe. I am still catching up on the Napoleonic and Franco Prussian war releases.

Carlos, That is no longer at the level of releases that other companies.

Hopefully FL returns to the production of previous years, I love their figures.

miss having Matt Pavone on here, he always gave good insight and the ongoings of what's in the works or a hint of possibilities.

I think except Nelson and WarPark, everyone is on Facebook. Way larger audience I would think.

Agreed...checkout other toy soldier groups on Facebook...the traffic and interactions on those groups dwarf this Forum.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for Treefrog's Forum.

There is a WarPark group on Facebook. Along with K&C, W. Britain, John Jenkins, and First Legion. I'm a member in each of them and it's a great place for collectors like this forum. Note that these are groups and not pages. There are pages as well controlled by each manufacturer.

I really like FL, used to collect, but just got too expensive for me, the Battle of the Bulge is the best stuff out there, head and shoulders above everyone else [in my opinion], i stopped myself from collecting because of the price, close too or £80 a figure.

I seem to remember that FL were never on a par with K & C, JJD and TGM for amount and consistancy of releases, but it has slowed to a halt. Think people are scaremongering a bit to say they could be going the way of others such as Conte, but it is human nature. In my opinion they are probably struggling, sale showed that [i know a few dealers who were p***ed off wit it as they were not informed prior to the sale]. Plus new releases are the lifeblood of a TS company, without i think sales take a big hit.

I thought they would have fallen back on established series and produced new stuff for those series, as buyers are more likely to add on than start a new reange, especially at FL prices. As JJD, TGM and K & C seem to be trying to cover every period between them, FL bought out Zulu War range and that flopped. However, new WW2 Germans, ACW, etc

The UK representative has not been at the last 2 London Shows, there is no one at the show selling FL.

Only time will tell ofcourse, hope for the best as they are excellent figures and i always like to have a look at them even thou i do not collect.

To take issue with some points not sure the Zulu range is a flop, try and buy FL Zulus and you can’t they are all sold except for the 2 with rifles. Maisonette Militaire we’re at the December show with a massive range of FL including new releases. FL have attended London shows in the past but the UK is probably small beer for them. I think if they have a problem it is being over ambitious and doing too much rather than concentrating more on fewer lines. Having said that the toy soldier world would be a poorer place without them.

Agree the TS world would be a poorer place, i agree. Correct M Militaire were at the show in Dec but the range they had i would not call massive, they took less tables than normal, plus the main market for M Militaire is the UK, whereas for FL you are correct.

I think their issue is cost and competition, with better value for many collectors buying from others such as K & C, JJD and TGM. I used to buy the odd figure, I did check yesterday and i have 6 of the German Battle of the Bulge range, but cut them short as they started hitting close to £80 a figure i backed off.

On Zulus - IC Toys and Magpies have them.

At the risk of being a bore I checked Magpie and IC and they both have Zulus but not FL. Seems they are all Britains or TG. The TG ones blend in OK with FL but britains do not their skin tone is much darker. FL bought out the 17 Lancers when you could no longer buy their Zulus in number. That’s the trouble if you are doing a diorama, you get caught out.
