I had to vote For Joe(LT) because he,s been such a good friend over the years and always willing to help me out in any way and also willing to help out other forum members also. And The one who pretty much started us out over here with the mini dioramas.

I don,t think number of posts is any way of judging the value of a member here on the forum and Quantity of posts verses Quality of posts are two very different things!!!!

There are a number of members here I can think of that should also be on that list that have inspired and helped me out over the years, just to name a couple of the many off the top of my head, how about the great dioramas of Fubar and UK REB???
Guys like Randy with his cool mini dioramas and research and helping out with setting up of the forum resources. I could go on and on these are just a couple at the top of my head to make a point but I have to give BRAD A LOT of credit also for keeping this place under control also even though I don,t always agree with some of what he deletes from the forum, I know I wouldn,t want the job of policing this place.

And and of course credit must go to Shannon and Pete for starting this forum in the first place!!!

Seems to me this is going to hurt someone's feelings. JMHO.

Maybe instead of turning this into a popularity contest this thread could be used as a place for shout-outs about how a specific member aided (or abetted!) you on the forum or added to your enjoyment of the hobby in some way.
Can you tell I just came from a 2-hour asset-mapping retreat?:D

I'll start.

Thanks to Polarbear for all the great pictures he posts that really add to the enjoyment of individual pieces while giving them a historical human touch.

Thanks to Wraith for the great humor he injects on the forum.

Thanks to Jazzeum for the endless hours of moderating he does.

Thanks for Rob for making new members feel welcome.

Thanks to the Lt. for helping ramp up the glossy portion of the forum.

Thanks to Warrior for bringing the wargaming experience to the forum with his dios.

Thanks to wadepat for bringing calm and levelheadedness to discussions.

The trouble with being the administrator is I know and appreciate so many of you there could easily be no end to this list-please don't feel slighted if I haven't named you personally. You probably fall under one of these thanks:

Thanks to the guys who post pics of their collections, those who take the time to post the great how-tos, those who take time to help identify mystery figures for others, those who post trivia questions for the enjoyment of other members, those who help newbies learn the ropes on how to post and how to upload images, manufacturers who take the time to interact with and inform their collectors through posting here, collectors who are willing to provide manufacturers with feedback, my fellow dealers who share their insight on the hobby, members who help each other find that elusive piece...I could still go on. Consider all of yourselves thanked and appreciated! I'm feeling the love :D.
Best regards to all,

I guess as i have most posts after Brad, fisheads remarks about number of posts are probably aimed at me,oh well can't please everyone!.

All i can say is that i really enjoy this forum and i hope my posts don't annoy too many of you:eek:.

A big thanks to Shannon,Pete and Brad for all the work they do on here,it just wouldn't be the same without all the effort you put in.:)

Rob my post wasn,t aimed at anyone and all I meant by my statement was that the number of posts that someone has on the forum has nothing to do with the value of there contrabution here on the forum. It wasn,t aimed at you or ANYONE!!!

I,d just like to know how the number of posts has anything to do with respect as it is put in the title of the thread? We all have different views and likes in this hobby and all collect in different ways so we,ll all have different opinions I,m quite sure! I just think its a bad idea to place the value of a member on the amount of posts he,s had????? Thats all I,m saying is there something wrong with that?
I in NO way meant this against Any member.

Yo Troopers, thought about this poll for 20 minutes before drawing the Sabre, so now its drawn. THIS IS ONE STUPID THREAD. Reason all these Generals and quite an impressive list it is, have been on this forum for years before I joined, and all earned their rank, by shaping this into a good forum, for us new guys, and to pick just one, Gads Sirs its just beneath an Hussar. I would like to thank everyone of them for all their good work over the years and sticking with the task. WELL DONE GUYS, you all get my vote.
Lord Cardigan.

We want John, we want John!

No offense to the member that started this thread, but this has to be the most idiotic post I have ever seen on the board.

I cheated and voted for myself:p :pI did not think any one would vote for me so I was determined to have at least one vote. Really kind of you guys to vote for me. This forum is kind of a home away from home for me. And I wish that you feel that way too:D I also promise everyone who votes for me something!:D:pThere are a lot of guys who add to this forum. Lt., Mikemiller, a relative newcomer Capitol Ron, UKReb, Actually a lot of guys who are not generals yet too. General, Thanks for the fun poll.:)

I was the first one to vote for you, what do I get?

I have cast my vote and it has to be OzDigger.
The most significant reason would be that he is the only one that I have actually met (and yes sold items to).
He is a nice guy and is the only Aussie General (apart from The General who has no respect for the lengthy promotion process !!!). However I am predicting the ANZAC Generals will double soon as Redhugh is getting near.
However anybody who is a Napoleonic or Zulu fan would be a close second !
Meanwhile I am getting close to Staff Sergeant !
Regards to all,
Brett
PS Support your ANZAC General.

Thanks Brett, and like Patton, Monty, KV etc I also voted for myself ;)
