I never saw "Gigli" with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen more than 30 seconds of her on screen, and I don't really care if I never do.

And I've never seen the "Saw" movies. Well, I caught about 5 minutes of the first one, I think it was, with Cary Elwes, on Sci-Fi or TBS, not sure which. I find the whole premise distasteful.

For starters, any of these painfully sounding CHICK FLICKS....

Waiting to Exhale
The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe

Forrest Gump -the trailer makes me cringe-indeed I've noted that the more people tell me that I've "got to see..." the more nauseatingly impossible it becomes.:rolleyes:John

At least 3 girlfriends have asked me to watch Sleepless in Seattle over the years,

I JUST CAN'T DO IT!

After 10 minutes, I'm at my desk on Treefrog, while I hear them sigh and cry in the other room.

Twilight. The same goes for reading the book.

The newest animated Star Wars movie. Alas, I'd like to be able to say I hadn't seen the newest trilogy. (This is coming from a fan of the old trilogy) :(

I skip the horror-ish genre completely as well as stupid, crass guy humor movies. In fact, there are few movies that we even bother to go see. The odd thing is, I like comic book movies, but then, it's hard to be disappointed when expectations are low already. :D

Cary Elwes in Saw?? Say it ain't so!

I've seen only one of the newer "Star Wars" movies all the way through, and it was bad enough to make me pass on the rest. The one with Jar-Jar, and Darth Vader as a cuddly little kid who builds robots, and the thinly-disguised racial stereotypes, unintentional though they may be.

And "mitochlorions" in the blood? C'mon! Wasn't it sufficient that it's just a mystical force, and some people have it, some don't, now we have to have blood tests to be a Jedi?

To quote The Lame List, brought to us by America's heavy metal community, "That's way lame! Jolly lame! That wallows in lameness!"

I know lots of people love them, but for me, the best is still "Star Wars" (none of this "Episode IV: A New Hope" nonsense!). A classic tale of good versus evil, a hero on a journey, all the elements of every great tale in most human cultures-you can't beat it.

Haven't seen any of the animated ones, except in commercials on the Cartoon Channel, and they don't appeal to me at all.

Prosit!

Frankly this site does not have sufficient bandwidth for me to list all of those. I have watched and enjoyed (in varying degrees) thousands of movies and certainly regretted a few hundred but there are also many thousands that I am proud to have avoided. Generally these would include all those in the cannibal, slasher and splatter horror sub genres, most zombie, biker, Bollywood (but certainly not the actresses) and gross-out films and Borat. In defense of "chick flicks", I am unabashed to say I rather like the majority of them, including such classics as The Philadelphia Story, A League of Their Own, Notting Hill, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Pretty Woman, Bridget Jones's Diary, His Girl Friday and Notorious.

The Sound of Music and I am extremely proud I have never seen it.

I have stayed very clear of Harry Potter.
and i passed on watching.......Mama Mia

Actually, A League of Their Own isn't a bad movie, it's pretty good, despite having Madonna and that guy, what's his name, Rosie O'Donnell in it. Tom Hanks and Geena Davis were both very good in it, and also, because of that movie, every time I see an episode of "Monk" with Sharona in it, I think, "That's the 'No Crying in Baseball' girl!"

Also good, in supporting roles, were David Strathairn and Jon Lovitz. Penny Marshall is a pretty good director.

Prost!

Monk! That's another show I can't stand, it started off ok but went rapidly down hill imo, sort of like MASH once Alan Alda/Hawkeye got to much attention.

As for Rosie O'Donnell. Maybe we should start an Annoying Actor thread where Rossie would be first on my list, closely followed by Andie MacDowell, Bill Murray and of course Alan Alda.

That is quite alright Oz; I was already pretty sure we weren't going to be spending a great deal of time together anyway.;):D
I also like Andie MacDowell, Bill Murray and of course Alan Alda.

There are some very good movies in this list, classics actually, such as Breakfast at Tiffany's and one of the alltime greats, The Philadelphia Story, and the others are very good.

TRUE CONFESSION..I rented MAMA MIA for the wife and I watched it 5 times, during the week I had it..I still hum the songs daily, weeks after the event..I think that a virus was implanted in my brain, from subliminal messages flashed at indeterminate intervals, to have the effect that I might at any time ,jump on a table and start singing, Dancing Queen.....Must be a generational thing. Thats my story and I am sticking with it.....Michael
