As we were taught in law school in evidence class, don't ask a question to which you don't know the answer.

It's not just me who does that then Oz;)

Trouble is I think Chris has indeed left the forum
Rob

Let's face it Rob, there are plenty more important and more interesting things in life than forums. I'm only here because I'm old and senile...and bucking for General ;)

I suspect you were really taught that at law school, and in a way I see its cautious logic. Still I can't help thinking that in the, dare I say real world (?) this could lead to a total standstill in acquiring new knowledge. But hell, let's not ... ;)

Yes but only before the trier of fact; discovery is where you learn what questions you do have answers for.;):D

We were taught not to ask questions where you may allow a witness or defendant the opportunity to go off on one and damage your case. Ask only what you want answered and be specific. The law and reality is more often than not diametrically opposed.

Still a nice change in pace and a light hearted fun thread

That is quite true, and Russell is right, of course. However, before you ask a question like Simmo did, you better have a good idea of the answer :)

Well that is true too, unless, maybe like Simmo, you don't care what the answer is.:p;):D

Yes, you must be right about that Bill. Not sure I'd ask the question; might not get the answer I want

Well you know what they say, it is better to be right than popular. Of course being right is always the challenge.;):D

This thread reminds me that we haven't seen Simmo around these parts lately. Hope he's not absent too long :)

He's left the forum Brad, I mentioned it in post 56 but it slipped under the radar. He may return after taking a break but unsure as yet.

Rob

I had also heard that elsewhere Rob and hope it isn't long. If I had anything to do with it, Chris, you have my complete apologies. The Forum needs you :)
