To answer the thread question is very easy. Because they quite simply make the best vehicles and figures, from a whole series of different theatres of WW2, at a competitive price and on a regular basis. K&C have carved out their own place in the TS World and the style is highly recognizable and attractive,its very addictive collecting their product!:smile2:.

Fantastic diorama Rob! I am working on a similar Bocage diorama with British tanks and a few Americans dotted around. Did you make the base yourself or is it available to buy. I think the tank tracks in the mud look great and I want to achieve the same effect. Chris.
Thanks Chris thats very kind of you. I made the base myself using some woodland scenic materials and also some earth coloured pigments. Chris I am glad you to having a go yourself as its very rewarding to create something from scratch, I look forward to seeing your dio!. I've posted more pics as it gives you a better view of the tracks I created;
Is it available to buy,Now thats a compliment Rob it is a great mat/dio and great K+C vehicles and troopers,BUT what a waste of a good PANTHER..............{sm4}
Who else does this on such a grand scale.............................................Yep thats right no one,and this is only the tip of the icebereg.
Excuse my dirty floor the maids on holidays............{sm3}
Thanks Wayne, very kind, seriously though mate I did feel a bit guilty doing that to a perfectly good Panther!{eek3}. Now I've done it I must try and get good use out of it, every dio I do from here on will probably have a Burnt out Panther in the background, even if its Crusaders or American Civil War...there will be a burnt out Panther!!^&grin:wink2:

Hi Rob,
I love that Panther!
It could use some smoke coming out of the hatch. I did this to a B-17 when I was younger. I had two engines out, trailing black oily smoke. I made the smoke using black paint and cotton balls. You just dip a bit of the cotton ball into the paint, and then start to pull the cotton ball apart, mixing the paint and cotton ball together as you pull it out into large puffs. I used the glossy Testors model paint so it would keep the final shape I made it into.
I don't think I'll do this with any K&C vehicle, but maybe buy a plastic kit and make it into a wreck. If it's background it might look okay, even if it is slightly out of scale.
Again, really nice work, not only on the tank but on the terrain as well.
Matthew
Rob, Those are amongst my favorite pictures you have posted. It's good to see them again.

Chris,
I used Celluclay for my groundwork, its good stuff but can warp polystyrene (or foam I think you guys call it) so you need to glue it to a piece of wood before starting work. I used a Tamiya piece of track for the Tank tracks in the earth.

Thanks for the info Rob, I might contact you again when it comes time to actually constructing the dio. I appreciate the translation too, but fear not...I am a Brit too, just over here keeping an eye on the colonies! I left Stockton-on-Tees 4 years ago to set up home here. I am 28 and had always been into building tank/aircraft models but it wasn't until I got here and visited a toy soldier shop in Quebec that I got hooked on K&C. Being here has its advantages too, there is so much K&C stuff avavilable on eBay US, much more than there appears to be in the UK and I just have it shipped to the Canadian border, where I just so happen to work! Who says you should never mix work and pleasure!
Chris
Always happy to help mate:smile2: Always good to see another Brit on the forum too, and yes I reckon you are right in that there always seems to be more K&C on ebay US. Sounds like you have a good plan there!
Cheers
Rob
