It's that time of year and I've put up my wife's Dept 56 dio. This year is Christmas in the City, alternates with the Dickens Village. Chris

A real town! The night effect with the lights creates a life ambience{sm3}
 
Simply staggering, what wonderful diorama. What a privilege to own such a fantastic collection, especially this time of year. Going to take plenty of views to take all this in. Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Robin
 
Chris, for me I like the night time shots with the subdued lighting being the winner.

Since you're the one who set it up, do we need to search for a hidden 12 pounder or miniature bottles of Bourbon or Chocolate Liqueurs maybe !{sm4}

Beautiful collection, Terp. There's Christmas Villages and Christmas Cities; I would say this is more of a city. The entire display is amazing and location/staging in the house, perfect. Years ago in an older house, we had a high slanted ceiling with a shelf area between the living room and kitchen. Displayed a small Christmas Village with a high steeple church on snow mountain as the centerpiece. The village was sort of a night light and it looked so nice, we left it up year-around. This is one of those villages that you would want to leave up as well.

Oddly enough, due to space constraints this yr we left out an adjoining 36" companion table. Hope to get the full dio together next yr. Chris
 
Love the Fox Theatre and the appropriate film now showing. What a fun collection and the yearly additions to look forward to. Robin.
