Wittman Tiger Diorama Pics (1 Viewer)

Al...

Don't think you missed a release must be about to come they do however look excellent posed figures. The one rubbing his head is a great pose
Mitch

OK. Did I miss a release somewhere, or are those new W-SS Grenadiers next to the Tiger? Excellent looking figures. And I DO like the Tiger, and have one coming. -- Al

Despite some pointed out issues with it, I still like the new Tiger and will probably order the Winter version later. By the way those new figure set look stunning. The poses are excellent.

Well done Brian

LOOKS AMAZING.ORDERED MINE A FEW DAYS AGO.MIKE B.^&grin DOES ANYONE HAVE THE ADD ON 4 FIGURE WITTMAN KNIGHTS CROSS SET?

Firstly the Tigers are sold out in our warehouse: gone. Probably the most popular item we've done. That's right we have NONE left.

But to the decaling: Very hard to hear about the those that don't like the decaling. But how pray tell are we going to pay a worker to apply a four hour custom decal paint job for each and every unit on both sides of the turret laid on top of Zimmerit perfectly and still bring this beautiful beast to market for $179.00? ( run on sentence I know, never good at grammer ) Any ideas? My goodness gracious fellas we even took time to overspray the decal with dust!

"Uhhhg such is the life of a miniature guy" ^&grin "sung to the tune of Rolling Stones " Paint It Black "

Tally Hooo!

regards,

Brian

Brian, Just pointing out a few things on this new release....to include the good points also.
Based on all of the comments made on this item overall you did a very nice job on this Wittman Tiger.
I do not want to part with mine for any reason. Appreciate your new products and trying to keep the price points collector friendly !!!

Michael...

There are plenty of decal solutions on the market that assist placing the decals and, that allow one to loose the sheen and affix to AFV's This was mentioned a while back that long transfers like this with three numbers decaled as one will always cause problems when placed over a zimm surface unless they are single numbers dry adhered or,trimmed close to the number and solution adhered.
Mitch

One point In fairness to CS that I would like to mention is my pics were done using a bright camera flash. This flash does bounce off of the 007 decal and give the impression that the 007 is shinier than it actually is. Looking at my CS tiger in the display cabinet with the naked eye it is not as bad as a camera's flash makes it appear to be. :wink2:

I have solvaset and some matt clear to put on the decals. Dry transfers are NOT going to work on the zimmerit surface. Keep the price low I will get mine one way or the other.{sm4}{sm3}

KV..

Have to disagree I have used dry transfers on Zimm hundereds of times and they always work. There are two very good articles in a model magazine showing this. I will hunt out the references and issue numbers for your attention. Its a fiddly job but, it can be done and, with good effect.

I would really like to see these comparison shots as well if someone has some time and would be so kind. I have the 1st CS Tiger, and I'm curious to see how they measure up w/ one another and/or how she looks alongside one of K & C's 1/30 Tigers (preferably their latest Winter Tiger). Thanks!

Al,
The figures next to the tank look amazing! Do you think the one figure is holding a dog or a cat? I hope it's a cat because that I'm a big cat fan and have several roaming my home! The soldier scratching his head looks BRILLIANT.

Looks like a cat to me. The animal in question looks a lot like Mr. Bigglesworth.{sm3} -- Al

Al, I think you nailed it...I think it is Mr. Bigglesworth!

Whether it's Mr. Bigglesworth or just an alley cat w/ no big screen resume, I think it's a great figure!

Yet another fine CS product to look forward to.

I was wrong. CS announced the new figure set today and according to the description, that animal is a dog! Still looks like Bigglesworth to me, though.{sm2} -- Al

Good catch on that, Mitch. It is most curious too, because it appears that the REAR sprocket has been painted with black to provide that very highlight. Of the two, the rear one is the harder to paint, so I wonder why CS didn't do the front one. CS did highlight with black paint the front sprocket on their first issue Tiger I's, some years back. Oh well, I guess I can provide a little black paint, as I've done to some of the other Tigers I've bought:wink2: -- Al
I was wrong on the sprocket criticism, as well as the cat/dog guess.:redface2: On close examination of the first issue CS Tiger I, neither the front or rear sprocket were highlighted with black paint. The sprockets are sculpted so well/deep that the shadow from where I was sitting looked like black paint. Sorry for the incorrect criticism, CS. -- Al

LOL! I thought it was a cat too. Hey, maybe it's a dog in a Mr. Bigglesworth suit!

Great set in any case. I'm really looking forward to picking this one up.

The two I have and the chaps that I am repainting are in addition to being well carved as you say are all painted and not by myself. I am still awaiting release from UK and thought there would be more pics of it. Mind, the pics by Thom were very good and the Tiger in them would not have evoked comments from me like those posted by 44
