WE LOST!!!.................Oh well, nice try boys, get em in 2018.................Wait; Portugal won?!?!?!?!?

WE'RE ADVANCING................WHA HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USA, USA, USA, USA.........

Even when we're losers, we're winners.

Soccer fever; catch it baby........................

Considering the way we got in I am going with: U.S., U.S., U.S., U.S...............

It's now time for the real Cup to begin!

My picks today: Brasil and Colombia.

Brad

Watching the entire stadium sing the National Anthem was very moving, maybe because it's something you don't normally see and because I used to live in Brasil.

Right now, Chile looks the better team. Brasil is all out of sorts. This is not the team I'm used to seeing :(

Well, let's see what happens in the last 20 minutes.

Let's see what happens in extended time.

Have to say this is pretty exciting; if Chile pulls this off, Brazil might implode...............

Brazil elects a cross-bar as it's new president and now it's on to a shoot-out, the favorite end-game of every soccer fan in the world.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Fasten your seat-belts.

It would be terrible if Brasil went out now.

And an upright is elected VP. Brazil got lucky. -- Al

Guys, still recovering from a near fatal heart attack! Get back to the thread soon...
Sim Brad, Deus e brasileiro! PQP!

Nice story for Columbia; first time ever to the quarterfinals, good for them.

Plus they've got a ton of smokeshows for fans, always a plus.

Bye bye Uruguay, thanks for nothing.

Next up, Brazil on the 4th of July.

Outstanding.

Well I`m finally back to my normal heartbeat...{eek3} Brazil had its worst performance today playing Chile and despite the refs error on Hulk`s clear penalty and after his goal (the ball touch his shoulder, not his arm...) I wonder if we deserved the result :rolleyes2:
Colombia earned it`s way and frankly I think the game between Brazil and them next Friday in Fortaleza will be a wonderful one, since both teams have a similar way of playing and James Rodriguez and Neymar will add to the show. I think there will be many goals, but my chips are on Brazil...:wink2:

Mine too, they are much more experienced at this level.

Take a look at this, this was the best Brazilian team I ever saw, indeed this was the best team I ever saw anywhere.
Unfortunately Brazil don't play like that anymore but they might win it even winning ugly^&grin...

Paulo

The best team I ever saw was Brasil 1970. It was like men versus boys. The best team that didn't was the 1982 version. Still hard to figure out how they lost.

If Brasil plays Friday like it did today, they will lose. I feel for the players as they have the pressure of the nation on them and the players, except for Neymar, are not as good quality as before. You could see the pressure when the whole stadium were singing the National Anthem especially the kids in front of the players. Those kids were almost screaming it out. It was more than impressive but at the same time, it has to be a burden on the players.

Brad, I agree entirely with you! Bad technical quality, poor tactics and a gigantic pressure... Fortunately there`s 6 days to try to work out the obvious problems the Brazilian team displayed today...

If Brazil manages to win the WC, I think they need to consider bronzing the goal crossbar that deflected the shot that saved the game late in the 2nd OT and the upright that deflected the shot that would have tied in the shootout. At the very least they should make the goal posts a national shrine. Without that crossbar, Brazil was DOA. Just sayin'. :wink2: -- Al
