For one of them, we're talking a week or so with the first figures shipping in early March. Pre-order to begin soon for just a very small number of figures introducing the range with lots of expansion over the course of the year.

As for anything beyond that, you'll just have to wait for now. We actually have several different things going on for 2009, so there will be no shortage of announcements of many new releases and ranges. For now, I suggest that you all enjoy what we have today and what's coming over the next month or two, which are really just some stunning figure sets, and worry about the rest later! :D

Rob, i agree.

its great that Matt keeps us up to date with First Legion's offerings.

here's looking for the new range. :D

I'm guessing a German Tiger or Russian T-34 would make a Samurai cry for his mama. ;) Let's get to the good stuff.

I hope you get what you want mate but for some of us, they started with the "good stuff".

With all of the Napoleonic releases we have blitzing onto the market in Q1 2009, your budget will have its hands full as it is. ;)

your telling me,i'm trying to stick to the Naps so i'm hoping you wont throw a spanner in the works but it depends what you bring out.could interesting or rather will be

Personally I think the market for WWII stuff is saturated. K and C, Figarti, HB, WB, ONWTC. I would rather FL concentrate on Napoleonics. We need Bursnwickers, Prussians, Hussars, Artillery support staff etc etc.

I'm pretty sure they will continue producing different nap figures but they have to expand their range as well as not everyone collects Naps. They want to appeal to a wide range of collectors which they wont do if they stick to one era.Personally i'll be sticking to (i hope:)) Naps as i wont be able to afford going into other fields with FL but will be interesting to see what they have up their sleeves but as you say ww2 has been saturated so how many will start collecting these would be interesting.I cant see many if any KC collectors changing as they already produce great wwII peices and have a large collector base.

I am with you. Cautious growth please, to ensure quality does not suffer.

Matt I understand inspects each figure individually.

The difference with WW2 is that a mfg. can dip his toe in the figure market without digressing from his main focus ( ref. HB and producing an odd set or 2 ). Because WW2 can be squad based for collecting purposes, FL could compete on a limited basis..Whereas Nappys are volume and mass formation driven, my pocketbook could afford the unique WW2 figure done the FL way..Michael

Well actually we need French cavalry (Cuirassiers, Carabiniers, Dragoons, Hussars), British cavalry (Innskillings, Guards, Dragoons, KGL), Rifles, British line infantry and light companies and fighting Old Guards even more IMHO.;)

That said, I feel certain they will not start something new unless the core range is well provided for.

Dont forget the Scots Greys, theres a few more Naps to come yet, whether they will do them all i dont know but i suspect they might.

The Scot greys would be stunning if FL did them. I can't imagine them being left out, so I think it is more of a waiting game.

I am sure they would be stunning but you have the K&C Greys. Actually I hope these come after all the others I mentioned which have not been done nearly as well. Of course I am not a fan of Grey horses really.;)

Oh i can wait for the greys, the KC ones were sent to my old address, fortunately family still live there but i still haven't seen them to judge yet.Ive not been that impressed at the KC horses yet so hoping theres improvement on these.
I'd like to see others come out first and suspect i will prefer FLs so the slower they come out the better money wise.

FL could also compete in some areas that KC and others have not covered. For example, Eastern Front. Given the quality and diversity of their Napoleonic sets, I have great hopes for whatever comes down the line.

Being a big fan of WW2 soldiers and having seen the quality of their figures i would like to see FL enter the market. However having said that i can also understand the view of Damian and others who have said WW2 is very well covered by many producers. But if FL do dip their toe i'd love to see them do something different from the norm, perhaps something like the British Army in Burma?.Or maybe as Doug has said the Eastern front as its not served as widely as other conflicts.

British army in Burma would be great. Do something that K&C doesn't do, like the Pacific. But I have a feeling if they do WW2, the first release will be Nazi's. That'd be disappointing.
