I've been spending most of my time lately reading about D-Day and the Desert War, but I need to get back to books on the Russian Front.

Is this a hint? D-Day - German/U.S./U.K/Canadian, Desert - DAK/8th Army/U.S. II Corp/Italian/Australian. Matt has previously mentioned D-Day.

I assume the one suggestion limit doesn't apply to this forum - so: Stalingrad (winter and summer), Norway 1940, Moscow 1941, Berlin 1945, Budapest (1945) don't forget the King Tigers!.........;)

Wow that's an EXCELLENT, if not ambitious, list. :D There's a bit of overlap there - Moscow 41, Stalingrad, Norway 40 - and Berlin 45 and Budpest 45 - conceivably making them all achievable!!

What one suggestion limit for those of us that don't check other related forums all that much?;):)

Canadian forum, but only if you promise to vote Eastern Front. We are in a death struggle with Italy and (say it ain't so again) N. Africa. What is Rommel always pointing at anyway? ;)

There are other related forums????

Bill W

There are other toy soldier forums out there. A web search would probably show most of them..They are not related, except some members here might also belong elsewhere..Michael

Is today the day? I'm starting to have wait fatigue. This thread was started in October.:D

Not to worry, I would have voted for the Peninsular.;):D

I would have to disagree with those who say WWII is well-covered by other manufacturers and that FL should therefore explore lesser covered theatres. I say WWII is covered, but thinly. Because so many general areas are covered, there are not a lot of items available for any one battle or scene. Then consider that at least half of K&C's figures are non-combat poses. Then divide that by 2 since you've got Axis and Allies. So, you don't have a lot of figures on any side in a similar settings (i.e. combat or non-combat) for any particular battle. I think the fact that most of us have wishlists as long as our arm is evidence of plenty of demand.

I don't know that it was a good idea for FL to choose the Russian theatre considering that it didn't do that well for K&C. But who knows, those figures do look good. Personally, I'm hoping FL dives right into the really popular areas like D-Day, The Bulge and North Africa.

Good points but how do you know what they have decided to focus on YET?

I feel WWII has been slightly done to death in the toy soldier world.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I don't know what they are going to focus on. I just hope they do D-Day, the Bulge, North Africa after the Stalingrad releases.

Well it is no big deal but you said in part

So I thought you had seen something that reflected what they had decided; maybe you meant "would be" instead of "was", I make that mistake myself. Nice shot of ole Lee BTW.;)

You are preaching to this choir mate but judging from the deluge of posts on a mere unofficial glimpse, it (like s**) sells.;) If it helps 1st Legion stay healthy and generously populate their "original" line, I'm certainly for it but you won't trip over me in the rush for what I expect will be some exceptional examples of the overdone subject.

The first batch of WWII releases is Stalingrad, right?
