WOW Gordon on Ebay (1 Viewer)

HOLY SHNIKKEEE!!!
$306 ?!? for one mounted figure? That is really stellar!
Mike

Now, this is funny. I think that is the one I sold him last year. I regret selling the piece but that's life.

I have this figure, or should I say, I have the Sudan Gordon Figure by Trophy, mine came in normal trophy box, not the Dragon box. Is that what makes this different or is this just a zealous bidder who has to have it!???

Hi TD

Is your model matte or gloss?

Cheers

Martyn:)

The original model, set#EL5, was issued by Trophy with a recommended price of £31.35 ($51.76) Dragon Crest re released it with the same set# but increased the price to an exorbitant £40.75 ($67.28):D

Cheers

Martyn:)

I cannot believe the box made the difference
I think mine is Trophy not Dragon Crest

I agree damian, I don't delieve that the Dragon Crest box would make that much of a difference, though I would imagine that the Dragon Crest box is rarer.
It would also stand to reason that if Trophy did this figure in matte that that too would be rarer as less would most likely have been made. Weather that would make it more desirable to a Trophy collector is anyone's guess.

I think that Tom is correct when he says it's a "zealous bidder". IMHO, the only way the figure would normally command that high of a price would be if it were known that a very limited amount were made. There's no understanding the mind of a collector.

Wow is about the only way to sum it up. I am amazed by the price this figure got, 100 to 150 would have seemed a bit high to me but certainly reasonable. I guess there will always be guys with more money than sense I just wish I had a set they wanted this badly...

A mint Trophy mounted figure, + on a camel; + a popular personality; + the original box = top dollar. I think in today's market that 100-150 would be a reasonable but expected price. :) 150 - 200 kinda high but not unreasonable. 200+ just too high (at least for me anyway).

Under 100 would have been a steal!

Hi Martyn,

It is a rare sight for Trophy Set PW1 to appear with a starting bid price of USD $99.00.

After admiring your magnificent set, I thought what an opportunity this would be.

Then again, the reality has set in.

The bid amount has more than doubled in the opening 24 hours.

I am sure bidding will go through the roof for this one, as it did for Gordon Pasha and Dr. Brydon.

Anyway, I was not the winning bidder for these sets, so I have a few dollars left in the piggy bank.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Raymond,
Good luck to you on this set! I hope you get it for a reasonable amount of dosh, and I'll throw an extra blurb for you to the Big Guy upstairs:)
Lord knows, you would appreciate the set!
