WSS104SL Assassination of Heydrich (2 Viewers)

Eazy

I am not selling the collector world short - I ARE ONE TOO !

My main point is that it takes alot of capital, time, effort and just plain old grit to run a business - any business. I think some folks either dont understand that or simply dont know.

And too many times on these posts we get the guys who take themselves way too seriously in this hobby.

No question the everday collector should be listen to and heard on products that are made. Any good businessman or woman will tell you that listening to your customers and dealers is good business.

Its the "puff -n- stuff" that we probally all could do without - IMO.

Ron

I want the old feisty CapitolRon back. Even just the occasional blue Napoleon would be cool! :)

Yeah havn't seen a big blue in ages!.How about it Ron!!!

Gentlemen, Gentlemen

I am trying to refrain from overt acts of praise of Our L' Emperuer. I do appreciate your fond memories of my great man - but, after much counseling (thats Washington Talk for being taken to the Woodshed ) I have agreed to limit outbursts on the Forum.

This seems to have restored some calm among our members who belong to other forums. :)

So please do think fondly of the "Old Big Blue Days" and lets us turn our attention to more important matters like telling Andy how to run his business ;)

Your Humble Reformed Forum Member,

Ron

L' Emperuer is dead!! Long live Ron!!!!:D

There is a degree of controversy as to what underwear Heydrich was wearing on the day. In the definitive two volume history " Called underwear of the Third Reich"t is said that Heydrich had two favourite pairs which he alternated. One thing is clear though at the end of the day his underwear did need to be washed

Don't want to be rude but what's the best? That we (the collectors) stop to post opinions or comments or that some member(s) stop to do lobbying for K&C? Just asking.

Also, if it's easy to (sit) on the sidelines in the industry  it is more easy to say that you respect the freedom of speech than to respect it (posting (h)aving great long posts of the summary of your opinion or detail thoughts of what is right or wrong - should be tempered with the fact we are just "the few" is not my understanding of an encouragement to freely express myself - here or anywhere else).

I am also collecting K&C figures (Silk Road, SOHK, LAH, FoB, AWI, AE, WWI, ACW and the new Warbirds and I am as proud as any other collector to have them in my collection but not to the point to suffer from the Hygrade syndrome.

Also, I really can't see what is the necessity for a manufacturer to post that the opinion of someone has no value because he his not a successful toy soldiers manufacturer (quoting: why not set up (your) own company to do it better and smarter. - that comment clearly implies that CS is nothing unless he is better and smarter than the author of the post. Wow!).

I was also biteing my lip and didn't want to post anything on the subject but telling a member that he is not enough big to post long posts of the summary of (his) opinion is so dismissive that I was afraid to bite my tongue in not giving my opinion... if you allow me to do so. Thanks.

Pierre Bousquet.

I can see where this is going. I think I need to change underwear

There is no reason not to share opinions about Toy Soldiers - thats way this forum is here. But, we should never forget that these are just our own little opinions and do not 100% represent what everyone else in this hobby thinks or should think. Having great long posts of the summary of your opinion or detail thoughts of what is right or wrong - should be tempered with the fact we are just "the few" - and we are certainly sitting on the sidelines in the industry, for its not our life's capital at risk everyday - it just our money we choose to spend on a hobby that we can quit at anytime.

So lets not take ourselves too seriously. Anyway those are just my thoughts.

Rude? No I dont take your editing my earlier postings beyond their orginial meaning rude - deceptive or wrong - perhaps.

I went ahead and printed the entire train of thought for those who might not have read my posting that you so skillfully edited. Your version is what you have implied - and in turn made a misinterpretation of my expressed opinion.

I am not angry over your postings or your opinions which you are free to speak at anytime you wish - your argument is what we call in Washington "Rights Grandstanding" - this where if your argument is on a faulty premise you immediately denounce your opponent of hold your "Right of Free Speech" down or back. We are having a open conversation here - you might not like what is being said - but, no one has denounced anyone from their freedom of speech. I think you know that.

My simple point is there are no 100% right answers and we are all only the experts of our own opinion.

That should be clear and simple enough in any language.

Sincerely, Ron

I wonder if the Heydrich set is more in demand in Europe than the US. That might explain the high demand from KC UK vs lack of discussion here. I suspect he is a much lesser know character among US collectors - his assassination being a British/Czech action. Speaking of movies "Conspiracy" by HBO was a top notch version of the Wannsee conference involving Heydrich and other nazis. It is available on DVD.

Ron you said we should take the attitude of "Knowing what is best" down a few notches. You should try taking your own advice. How many umpteen times have you posted "K&C ARE THE BEST TOY SOLDIERS IN THE WORLD" or "Andy Nielson changed the toy soldier hobby for the better".
You always talk about freedom of speech but if someone doesn't agree with your opinion, you have a problem with it.
Also in reading Shannon's Forum rules about respect for other members and their opinions, it seems Andy Nielson should get a warning.

I have this dvd and it is both fantastic and chilling at the same time. Some wonderful acting that showed the hideous evil at the heart of Hitlers Reich.Makes you so glad we kicked their arse into oblivion.Has anyone else noticed that one of the actors in this is the same chap who shouts out the news in 'Rome'.

My statements have been my opinions (remember that "freedom of speech" thing) - I have no complant about someone thinking this toy soldier company is better than that one or the other - we all have our favorites.

When I talked about "taking down a few notches" is when people think they can run someones business better than them - IMO , thats a bit much.

Everyone has favorites and if you guys personally dont like Andy - fine thats your right - I really dont understand why ? But, certainly your right.

As far as Andy Neilson effect on the Toy Soldier Industry as a whole - well that my friend is simply fact.

I am not fighting Andy's battles for him - just expressing ...let see how do you say it??...oh yes, my "fredom of speech." ;)

Sincerely, Ron

Ron you're right. Andy Nielson has changed the toy soldier industry. In my opinion not for the better but he has changed it.

Thats quite a statement, in which way would you say he has changed it.Do you not rate his Vehicles and figures?.

Rob

I try to stay out of these things, but I too would like to know how Andy has changed this hobby "not for the better". Please enlighten me, with the money I have invested in K&C maybe I can still get out while there is time!

I have often thought that Andy has become a lightning rod by what he says , not what he does........ His vehicles and figures are, in my humble opinion ,wonderful things, and except for a nit pick of a rivet, here and there, must have collectibles....But Andy has a way of alienating folks, with his" in your face " and " up yours ",comments to whoever is in his crosshairs of the month....Most executives of most reasonably large companies, usually refrain from mixing it up with the " peasants ".:) Most times, it is because the successful owner does know what he is doing and really does not have to justify his decisions to any of the masses..Andy, I do not care how you run your company nor should you care what I think ( you are a wonderful businessman ), but why do you sometimes act like one guys opinion ,will topple you, if you do not verbally beat him down...Most other mfg. will hear the real ,as well as the unjustified gripes, and merely say " thank you "to the poster. No one can say that Ana, Rick ,Ken, or other mfg. have ever gotton into as many hissy fits with their customers as you do. It is not necessary and it only causes the members to end up taking sides and beating these kind of posts to death. No axe to grind, but this tit for tat, does wear me out..Michael
