WSS16 I Won 2 Months Ago (1 Viewer)

I have been on e-bay for about 8 years and have about 90 purchases without a problem, but even so, I have become increasigly wary recently about bidding on any old K&C items unless I know who the vendor is. In the past, I have purchased some $200 - $300 items from vendors who were not regular sellers of K&C figures or not regular sellers of expensive items (i.e. a one of type of sale) but I would not do that today with the current e-bay system. I like to know that the vendor has a long and good reputation and knows the product he is describing.

I would like to say to everyone as a long time 10 + year veteran with over 2,000 transactions that you are 100% safe if you pay with Paypal! Even thought they are owned by Ebay their customer service is far superior.

I always pay via Paypal, and use a Credit Card and I have never lost a penny. Paypal always makes things right, I have never had to contact my credit card for assistance in a Paypal transaction.

So be carefull, use Paypal, and you should be OK!:)

Terry thats really a tough one. I would never allow 45 days to pass without the item arriving! I would always recommend filing a non-receitp of item claim long before that. Claims can always be closed if everything turns out OK!

So Scott may need to go through his credit card company???

At this point if it is past 45 days he may have to contact the credit card company to dispute the charges. I would contact Ebay then Paypal if directed there and explain my situation.

I would also be very wary of anyone that took this long to ship an item to me. I just had a fellow take his sweet time shipping me an item and over charge me $11+ for shipping. Item arrived about 16 days after auction ended. I dropped him a note giving him the opportunity to refund part of the shipping overcharge. He responded with a curt note so I left a warning for his next victim.:D

I love people that try and make you feel guilty when they cheat you for a few dollars. I always look at it like they are cheating my grandaughter, then I get annoyed. I may not need the $10 but if anyone is going to get it....she is first in line.:D

Hey guys, you may remember me putting up a thread about me winning a WSS16 Tank Crew on the 21st Of July?

Well it just arrived today, two months after purchasing and paying for it!

And the seller described the condition as 'Used', however he failed to mention that all the figures of the men were chipped, the barrel from the sitting figure is quite out of shape, the gun under his arm was bend and falling off, and the tip of the man's shell casing was chipped too!

He also failed to mention that there was no box!

I paid US $232.50 for this set, as I was led to believe it was in at least good condition, and that it was boxed up!

Some sellers need to better describe their items when putting them up for sale on Ebay!:(

Just e-mailed the guy there, even my mum is not happy, he will hopefully reply shortly!:mad:

Is there anything I could do?
Any money back clause that is open for me?

What a coincidence i had the same thing happen to me on the same set,i tried everything mate,no chance its typical of ebay you have to pay 5 seconds after you win or you get bad feedback then they can post it the slowest way possible and charge you the most.Hope you have better luck than i did but hey after a little touch up the set come up alright and its one of my favs so dont get discourage by 1 loser, ive had more good deals than bad on ebay.

Terry,

That may work for K & C WW II but not K & C Glossy. As they don't appear often, you have to jump in and hope for the best. Yes, I've had some really bad packing jobs and some badly damaged figures that I've had fixed. You just can't always be picky as who knows when or if you'll see them again.

This may be true in your case, but it's not always true. You have 45 days to file a complaint against the seller. If you are over the 45 days paypal will disallow your claim. Been there and had it done to me. They were not interested in what happen, why it happen etc. As far a they were concerned case closed.
If you use a credit card to pay you may have some recourse, but that's through the credit card company NOT paypal. AND... if your credit card company refunds your payment and stiffs paypal, then paypal will suspend your account as a breach of regulations you agreed to abide by when you joined. Paypal has all the angles slanted in their favor.

I couldn't agree more Brad. I always let the seller know to wrap each piece seperately and pack in a a strong box and still you get damage figures. I usually contact the seller and request a partial refund, then make the necessary repairs. Thankfully I have the ability to do them myself. :)

The worst that ever happened Skeeter was about two years ago when I purchased for Larry Lo some rare K & C Zulus. The seller put them in a fedex box, with no bubble wrap, nothing; just tossed them in a box. Well, you can imagine what they looked like when I received them. Needless to say I went ballistic and got a partial refund. A friend of mine, who is an expert painter, fixed them so you couldn't tell the difference.

Glad I don't collect glossy figures - sounds like a much more difficult task and probably requires a lot more knowledge about the figures. I also wonder if paint scrapes would be more visible on gloss than on matte?

Depending on how bad the damage is, especially to the drum, Scott might be better off trying for a partial refund and finding someone to restore the item. I would be nervous about sending them back.

45 days is way too long for some one to ship, even if international. I got a Honour Bound Sherman on Ebay, it was shipped just in a box with no packing foam or secured. It was not a pretty sight when it arrived.

Thanks for posting the seller response. I wouldn't know what the heck to make of it.

He apologizes, kind of, but then tells you he'll take them back as others have been asking if they could have a crack at them.

Be carefull if you opt to return them. Make sure you send them with a tracking number or delivery confirmation to be certain they are received.

I really don't like the overall tone of his email - "sorry but others are interested".

This only other thing I can ask was if there were paint chippings or flakes in the bos it was shipped in?

The only comment I will make on time (and in this case it is ridiculous) is that in certain countries, Italy and Australia, I have had packages (large ones, noticeable!) sit in there for a month.

My stuff, even First Class International tend to land very fast.

Back to the original issue, if he took two months to send it then your time to file a dispute is up. If you do send it back, he might not even refund you. Time for filing a claim is well past.

Could you make an argument to ebay/paypal that he delayed in sending the merchandise because he knew it wasn't what he represented to me so that he could deprive Scott of his right to file a claim?

Guys, the seller has gracefully accepted to refund my money, postage and all!:)

Great seller, was not even questionative!:)

I will deffinetly deal with him again!:)
