WW 1 Centenary Diorama (2 Viewers)

To-day again spent with good company working on the Great War dio.
Jack and Phil supposedly attempting to hang a hessian screen around the base of the ALH dio, you will note that Jack has lost a lot of weight since his last appearance on this thread.:rolleyes2:

The 'Bog' was positioned where we want it and will be detailed a bit more later.

Bit more work was done on the 'wire'.

Wayne.

More work was done on the 'trench' with a lot of dry brushing and etc yet to do.

The German tank was positioned and will be set in place later on.

Bob toiling away.

Some trench signs both British and German which will add detail.

I wore the tightest shirt I own in order to show that last week's photograph was quite, quite inaccurate.

We will when Barneywomble takes some new shots for us late on when all is complete, if you go to the K&C dio section (PAGE 2) and look at the 'The magic of Barneywomble. A.L.H dio' thread you will find some wonderful pics.

Thanks Wayne...:salute::

I think you all have absolutely nailed the 'moonscape' terrain that defines WW1 on the Western Front. It all looks perfectly brilliant. Congratulations to all of you. -- Al

Excellent - beats a 7lb jam tin with holes in the base made with a nail - and hung from a convenient branch - everytime!

Question? - Do you have any original pics of this set-up? If so - would love to see them. Wel done - once again. jb

Well the basic idea was from a picture of a German set up in the field and I have used much artistic licence assuming that engineers of both sides would have thought about the same way, I can't post the picture as there was no modesty from those having a shower when it was taken. Just google field showers of ww1 as I did.

Guys, just to pass on my congratulations to all of you involved in producing this superb scene, a mammoth undertaking that has been executed with great skill and realism. To build this in this year is very appropriate and very much helps bring WW1 in this hobby to the fore and let WW2 take a back seat for a while.

Well done guys:salute::

Just superb.

As I have said before on a number of occasions - your leader is proud!
