Dangerous. As soon as the Tiger starts up it's engine, the PzKpfw gets sucked into the air cleaner !{sm2}

Nice shots.

That Panzer I commander is probably thinking this isn't fair!^&grin

Rob..

Great shots. shows the evolution well I would rather be in the Typhoon overhead

What did they feed them on in Germany in WW2 to make the tanks grow SO big ????

Bier und sauerkraut ???

:)

Now I understand why the Germans ran out of gas during WWII. {eek3} I wonder how many feet/gallon the the Tigers got!!!!!

IMO based on the limited usefulness of the Jagdtiger ( too big, too slow, huge gas guzzler, mechanically unreliable, too heavy for most bridges etc ) I'd say this picture proves the adage...."Bigger is NOT always better!" {sm4}

It is a great comparison picture. Also highlights the German evolution from blitzkrieg to defensive rolling pillboxes. -- Al

Sorry to rain on the thread but the Jadgtiger is not a tank, it is a tank destroyer, no turret.{sm3}

Ok then, AFV evolution , it's not a scientific study just an example of how the vehicles changed.

So true well said.

Thanks guys, I thought it would be fun to compare two of the German/K&C AFV's from opposite ends of the spectrum. Tank/destroyer :)wink2:) evolution happened at an extraordinary rate in WW2 didn't it , necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

I got your intention. Early armor was small. At the end of it all they were "Monsters" Good thread !!! :wink2:
