Warrior Queen Aethelflaed AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection 6421
If I'm being honest, not my favorite sculpt by aeroart. That being said, I think the painting of the clothing and cape are amazing! In addition, Aethelflaed is a remarkable woman in history. These things trumped and misgivings I had and she had to be purchased!

Pope Urban II w/ Crusader Sword and Pastoral Staff AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection 3331
I absolutely love this figure! Everything about it is great. This particular one had some issue with his sword and hand. I repaired as best as i could and for the price paid, I am a-ok with the damage. Someday i may replace it with a pristine copy, but for now, just happy to have him!

Duke of Burgundy Charles the Bold Riding into Battle AeroArt/St.Petersburg Collection EW14

Here is a figure that upon release, I said, wow, that's nice, but no way I am going to pay that much for it.
Time and again, i kept seeing it at shows and...YUP, I caved!!!
Just an absolutely stunning figure. I often say it, but this time, boy do I mean it, pictures don't do this justice at all. The detail in person is unreal and when the light hits off the "gems" in the cape, it's amazing!!! If I have one "gripe" (minor), I wish they spent more time on the painting of the horse. The figure is so detailed, but the horse to me is fairly blah

Another random Ebay find - I haven't seen this guy around often

A stunning figure in my opinion! I love the papal figures (Borgias, etc) - what good Jewish kid wouldn't

My "Borgia" collection of Aeroart figures...still a few more to collect!

Brad,

It's used from a collection they are selling.

Joe

Joe,

I noticed they’re selling some of the Civil War generals. Must be from the same collection. Could be the photos but they don’t look nearly as good as the ones I have.

Brad

Brad,

A lot of the Civil War pieces were painted early on in the mid-nineties in fairly large quantities for Russian pieces, and there weren't as many master level painters as there were 5 or 10 years later. The Russian style as we know it was still developing. So some pieces were not as nice as others. We still see that today to a degree, but it seems to be really pronounced among figures from that time, especially the Civil War figures. This might have been partially by design too as an adjustment to not only collector demand but at what price could CW figures typically be sold at.

Love that LEGO background, Zach :smile2:
Are you collecting these buildings?
I am :wink2:

I have most of them. I love them. I also bought some led light sets to light them up

"I Don't Want to Go to School"
sculpted by Lucas Piña Penichet
painted by Debbie Volquarts

I had this one painted in honor of my father. The shirt is based on one of his favorite flannel shirts. Debbie did a fantastic job with the plaid! I could not be happier with how it came out!

That's so nice, Zach! My Grandfather used to love those same flannel shirts. He passed away at age 95 right before Christmas, and we had a box of those flannel shirts wrapped up for him for Christmas. We kept it for years after he passed. I just couldn't bear to unwrap it or donate it.

I kept two of my dads favorites. No clue what I’ll do with them but i guess it’s just one of those things we do

My dad was also a big flannel shirt man. I am going to start going through all his stuff soon.

On another note, I love the tribute figure you had painted, Zach! I have been thinking of getting a figure of him made, but I still have to decide what I want.
