Zarriba! Zarriba! Andale! Andale! (1 Viewer)

Mike,
Think you should try your hand on some native huts! I'm sure modelling clay would be fine for the walls. The roof.....bristles from an old yard broom maybe? But there again what do I know!

Zareba...some good suggestions but the jury's still out I fear.

Pete...the huts look simple...I wouild like 3 or 4 of them...

the zareba...I have seen 1,000 modeler's handmade conception of them and 100 drawings on them...no two are alike yet...I'm not sure what they really look like...

1001 and 1002 of modelers interpretations--British camp and zereba

101 of drawings: 1884-5 drawing done on site

Mike--the drawings done on site at the time should be considered primary historical sources

This is quite useful stuff for making spiky hedges etc.

I have some German Statice that looks okay...I will probably use this unless I can find the rubberised horsed hair...

Rubberised Horsehair

Rubberised horsehair is an excellent material for producing foliage. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get hold of, your best chance is a quality upholsterers, or maybe your granny's old sofas.
The type shown here has a very circular pattern to its hairs, but there is a slightly better type which is more spiky.

Usefulness - Excellent for foliage
Availability - Very Rare
Sources - Upholsterers
