Zulu??? (2 Viewers)

Brian, would it be possible to show us some production samples?

We will be shipping sets this week, so Im sure there will be a bit of Treefrog chatter on the way in the coming weeks.

I have one other thing to say: Usuthu!!! sung to the tune of gatling guns in the backround!

Happy Collecting,

Brian

I'm curious if some of the suggestions for corrections have been implemented in the final figures.

I received the Zulu War 7pdr. set and the 24th Foot set today and they are absolutely fantastic, especially the artillery piece.

For plasmapulse the artillerymen are still in the khaki pants and the helmet plates are still on all of the figures but the paint jobs are done very well (...nice healthy skin tone). The artillery officer's adams revolver is sculpted very well as are the Martinis. Looks like he can easily be converted to a 24th Foot officer if need be.

The figures are slightly larger than the Britains but still within the range (for me) to display with the Britains AZW figures.

I didn't notice it before but the corporal lunging witht the bayonet is left handed, nice touch.

Kudos to Brian at CS, can't wait for additions to the line.

It's great to have more than one company making the AZW metal.

If someone can send me a PM on how to post photos I will post some pics.

Hmmm....I've been waiting patiently for Mr Conte to finally release the AZW figures that have been on his website for eons. Reckon I'll have a look at the CS figures while I'm waiting. If they're as good as you guys are saying they are, well....

Cheers
H

Thanks for the info. Pics would be great. Perhaps with some WB standing next to them??

As I was looking at the new Zulu releases from CS I am reminded of the dynamic poses we had seen when Conte came out with his Zulus. The action is there in the figures. The grimness of war is there. The style is somewhat different do not get me wrong. The detail is definately CS. But the excitement in the figures is fantastic. I would hurry if I were you.:D:D

CS AZW Pics

Here are the comparisons of the CS Zulu War figures and the Britains AZW.

We had the CS figures displayed next to the WB figures and whilst one could see the detail differnces and paint style differences, heightwise they are very close. IN other words they will go together well. These CS figures are very nice. Well done Brian!:)

Kilted Vampire hit it right on the head. The CS figures are done in their own style and remind me of an R Caton Woodville drawing/painting. They are really nicely done. What matters to me is that they are similar in size and these can be posed together with the Britains AZW figures.

I posted these photos through photobucket. I'll like to post larger images. Does anyone know how to enlarge the photos on photo bucket?

Breaker the photos you posted were done through the forum (according to the properties of the photo)

I would go to photobucket and select the photos you want then at the bottom of the page you should see

generate HTML and IMG code click that then it will change pages you want to click and highlight the codes underneath this heading

Hope that makes sense
IMG images for message boards then come back to TF and paste into a new message. You shouldn't have to re size anything that is the beauty of photobucket it does it for you

Ok second try. Thanks Britfarmer.

Hi All,have just received my Zulus in the post today:D
This is just my personal thoughts, well the figures and paintwork are an improvement on the Africa Korps figures i purchased, with some stunning sculpting and paintwork(i was slightly expecting Zombie Zulus:confused:) but not this time and i am one very happy bunny.:)
I still have to master removing figures from foam inserts though,be very carefull as the figures easily bend ie spears etc:eek:
Regarding the size of the figures, i am not sure they are 54mm?I could be wrong, but i am that happy with the figures i am not bothered about the size!
Brian keep up the good work, heres to more Zulus!

I have included some images of the Zulus:

Regards Steve

Hi Again just some more images of the Zulus and a quick size comparison.
The Trophy soldiers shocked at the size and physique of the Zulu and has fired too high;)
The 2nd image are Britain's Matt,Britain's gloss and Trophy 24th foot figure for size comparison,54mm?
The Zulus dwarf my gloss figures, but you could probably get way with mixing Britain's Zulu range with collectors showcase figures?
regards Steve

Wow what tall lad's!

Anyhow we definately aimed at meshing our sets with Britians line as we felt they had done the best job at overall scope of the genre to date.

Nice comparisons!

regards,

Brian

The zulus look great . Nothing that bothers me about them so that is very good news.
