RIP Robert Duvall (2 Viewers)

Always good in every role he played but seemed especially suited for cowboy flicks ... True Grit, Lonesome Dove, Open Range, Broken Trail, he always seemed to have a just-right western accent and cowboy bow leggedness. ;)

I had forgotten that he was in George Lucas' "THX1138", too. That had grown out of a film school project Lucas did in grad school.

Prost!

And I just thought of a comedic turn Bobby D did, on SNL back in 1998. Garth Brooks was the guest host and they appeared in a sketch of a game show called, "Who's More Grizzled?". Norm MacDonald played the host.

Anyone seen Tender Mercies for which he won Academy Award back when that meant something? Duval learned to sing for the movie. Didn't do well at the box office but thought it a very good movie.
