Things that I really like (4 Viewers)

Today is Easter Sunday, arguably the most holy day of the year, as you know I'm Greek orthodox, so my Easter is actually next Sunday, but friends of mine invited myself and my girlfriend over for Easter dinner, we're leaving in about 15 minutes and will be gone for the day.

How about if we have ONE day where we don't do this "your party is worse than mine" dance on this forum; actually it's rather ironic as I'm a registered Independent, I don't want my name associated with either party truth be told as they both are dumpster fires.
have a good Easter dinner...we have some spanikopita in the oven right now...

Next week won't be the same without Mama Bear, but my Sister is doing her best to still make it a special day, life goes on, but it's never the same now is it.

My Mom loved Easter as did my Grandmother, I think it was my Grandmothers favorite holiday. I went one year to Easter Eve mass at the Greek Church with her and my parents, it was a marathon, started at 10:00pm, ended around 1:00am, my Grandmother powered through it like it was nothing, I was exhausted on Easter Sunday, God bless that little peanut of a woman.

Those Greek Easter marathons at the church…as a little kid…I hated them… We had to hold those candles…that would drip wax all over our hands and on the floor… one year I stood so long I got dizzy and actually passed out and crumbled to the ground… and I never won an egg battle either…I think they gave me defective eggs…

I'm dying over here...........because it's so spot on and 100% true. My grandfather used to hold the egg in his massive mitt and all that was showing was a dime sized piece, no one stood a chance on breaking his egg..........one year my imbecile older cousin put his egg in the freezer, first time he got into an egg battle the shell shattered to pieces................;).

even those 100 year old Greek women...that wore all black at church...and had a pretty good mustache...used to beat me on eggs...then they would pinch my cheek and say in broken English..."You a gooda boy."...those women scared me...

first time I ever met my Aunt Sylvia...cause she lived up north...was at my Dad's annual 4th of July BBQ...huge event...
every relative we had...Greek...German...Italian would come to it...

I was about 12...everybody was drinking and eating...and this big woman...built like a long shore man...dressed in an all black dress that went all the way to the ground...dead in the middle of the summer...at least 90+ degrees...with a pretty good looking mustache herself comes walking up the driveway...

I pointed at her and asked my Dad..."Who is that?"...or maybe I said..."What is that?"...lol...

"That's my baby sister."..................

Greek women...either they are very attractive...or not so attractive at all...

here's a pic of my great grandfather and grandmother...he was a bull I hear from Miller lore...

fond memories...

Greeks...good people...hard working group of Immigrants...

Congrats to the UCLA women, great victory and a little of putting folks in their place too. Emphatic win. I don't feel so bad the Lady Longhorns lost to them after watching the game today. They out bullied the Bully.
