US/Israel Launches Op Epic Fury Against Iran (4 Viewers)

Actually, this thread can wind down now because the WH says the war is over. Sorry, this ain’t Oz where you can click your heels and wish it over.

I'm going to be optimistic today...oil is supposed to be significantly down....the Dow futures are up over 400 points...Trump says there is great progress and he is pleased with the talks with Iran...

Oil prices plunged significantly on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with US WTI dropping over 9% to around \(\$92–\$93\) per barrel and Brent crude falling below \(\$101\). This sharp decline, which also saw wholesale gasoline and heating oil prices fall, was triggered by reports of a potential deal between the U.S. and Iran to end their conflict, lowering supply disruption fears

We’ve seen this movie several times already. It just shows that traders, who are short term thinkers, will grab at any straw of information. If he’s telling the truth (he and the truth are not exactly friends), great, and if not well then we are back where we started.

At any rate, today will be a good day to dump some stock.

This is scary...hope he is just posturing...

Trump says Iran war would be worth it even if oil prices doubled 25 minutes ago / 5:49 PM ET

While unveiling plans for a UFC event at the White House lawn for his birthday, Trump told reporters that the U.S.’ role in the Iran war would be worth it even if the price of oil per barrel doubled.

“The stock market is higher now than when we started this war,” Trump said, adding that he expected the price of oil to go up to “$200, $250.”

“And it’s at $100,” the president said. “Even if it went to $200, it would have been worth it.”

By the end of trading Wednesday, U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at $95.08 per barrel, while Brent crude stood at $101.27 per barrel.

Yeah..................this guy is not right in the head.

He's really not.

The IRGC are just playing for time as is Trump, just for different reasons.
Soon Iran won't have any more storage capacity for the oil still being produced. what do they do then ?
Do they halt production, which will possibly make their oil wells inoperable and have to start again, losing billions, or do they do the unthinkable and let the oil out into the Gulf and threaten to do more ?
Polluting the Gulf would certainly focus attention and might even get them off the hook. The regime are certainly capable of doing that and blaming everyone else for it

Concerning the War in Iran and oil prices fluctuating sharply...

The Department of Justice is investigating a series of suspiciously timed trades in the oil market...made just minutes ahead of major announcements by President Donald Trump and a top Iranian official about the war in Iran, sources told ABC News...

where these security trades made HUGE PROFITS...$2.6 billion in profits...
literally just
minutes before confidential announcements from Trump were made public sounds awful fishy...

ABC News obtained the data of the four trades from the London Stock Exchange Group.

On March 23, 15 minutes before Trump announced that he would delay threatened attacks on Iran's power grid, traders bet more than $500 million that oil prices would fall.

On April 7, hours ahead of a temporary ceasefire announced by Trump, traders bet $960 million that oil prices would fall.

On April 17, 20 minutes before Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on social media saying that the Strait of Hormuz was open, traders bet $760 million that oil prices would fall.

On April 21, 15 minutes before Trump announced he would extend the ceasefire, traders placed a series of bets worth $430 million that oil prices would fall.

don't know who...but sounds like somebody was privy to what Trump was gonna say before he announce it to the public...

Gee, I wonder who made those trades?

Probably most of our elected officials of all persuasions through blind trusts. I have been saying this for years - our markets are rigged, as an individual investor you either invest in large funds (who take advantage of information) or you get lucky on the coattails. Market makers and traders are who drive these markets based on information they obtain.

cmon now. They all get rich regardless of where they sit. I have always said these morons we elect are not the morons we think they are. They are the ones sitting together laughing as they eat, drink and be merry on the taxpayer dime. It is as choreographed as a WWE wrestling match!

Tom...

I'm not saying it was Trump or even one of his proxies that made these trades...
and I'm not so naive that I don't know there are both crooked Democrats and Republicans in office...cause there are...
and whether it was a Democrat or Republican...I would openly condemn either party...
this is a classic case of insider trading...taking advantage of confidential material not available to the public...
this especially irks me as I have traded stocks since I was 25 and have been hurt more than once when an executive of a stock I owned gets caught doing this...

but this would be confidential information that was produced and generated in the current administrations back yard...
not something a lot of people would be privy to...
I would think only a handful of privileged people would of known of his announcement...
especially considering the timing of the trades before the announcement...

Obviously, I don't know who did this one, but I bet we would all be surprised about who when and where insiders get this kind of information. I am cynical, I admit it, but insider I think happens a lot more often and is more widespread than we collectively think. To me this is another example of politicians doing something openly and they just don't care, it is almost a catch me if you can.

What do we really expect from a system where a governing body sets their own raises, their own performance reviews, has healthcare and pension for life after very little service, as little as 2 years, can be convicted and still receive those benefits, etc etc etc.

It’s amateur hour at the Dumb House. Trump launched Operation Freedom, which seemed like it had potential but after a day ended it. Why? Because he failed to consult with our allies in the area, particularly Saudi Arabia, whose autocrat was so pissed that he had not been consulted (nor was Kuwait happy) that he refused to give us permission to fly over Saudi airspace. So Trump had to back down. He is so anxious to end this war because he’s being hammered in the polls that the Iranians know they have him over the proverbial barrel — they read the polls too — that they can just wait him out before Taco man shows up.

Who is Taco Man? Sorry for being thick.

Iran is not real smart themselves today, they attacked UAE again, why I don't know, but that is not a smart move on their part.

I truly believe that our government quit working for the average American sometime during the 2nd Clinton administration, and has gotten incrementally worse with each passing administration. The past 10 years government has been performative art. It doesn’t matter if they are a D or an R they all seem to be in it for the power and the self enrichment. I reminded of the last paragraph of Orwell’s Animal Farm:

"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

What a great post; I both love it and it also makes me sad.

So, so true.

"The past 10 years government has been performative art"; I'm stealing that, but will give you a dollar every time I use it..................:).

First we had someone with zero political or military experience run the country for four years, then we had a 45 year empty suit hack politician run it (or so it seemed), now we're back to someone with zero political or military experience running it again.

It's stunning that as a nation, this is the best we can come up with.

It's staggering really.
