You will notice that the Commander in Chief has given the ranks a bit of an overhaul. Given that it (and many of you) has been around a long time, we have added a few new ranks and made the grade system to more accurately reflect the challenges of moving through the ranks.

It does look a bit different. My appreciation on all your hard work in the last few days.

Cheers,

I like the overhaul of the ranks. We had too many generals already.
Now I had to check out Rob's rank and even he is not a general yet,, with many, many posts on his back.

Just a suggestion but it would be cool to be able to enlist in the forum in a given arm: Navy, Air, etc. and get ranks accordingly.

Nice work Pete, you've both done a fine job that is much appreciated. Konrad is quite right, there were a lot of Generals!.
Rob

Peter,

can you give us a breakdown of the rank structure, like what are the numbers to get your promotion?

I this way, I'm sure we can then 'buy for the mess' with our promotion up the ranks.. well maybe just a local gathering could pop a few cans in celebration.

When the generals are dethroned the people "Rejoice";)....Viva el presidente

Just a quick note does anyone think its all to white?? I think people with eye disorders migraine symptoms etc will struggle with this new lighter background. Just a thought.

Totally Agree Mitch...This is harder on the eyes...Old Format was definitely better IMO

I do think as many are more mature say, on here this will have to be addressed and the darker background brought in. Surprised nobody thought of this when it was designed.

I agree with Obee. Would be interesting to know the rank structure. Was just about to make Captain and now a Master Sergeant. Seems First Sergeant is next for me.

Never mind Brett, I was a General (pain) and I have been promoted to Major (nuisance) :D

Yes, I agree. The white background is a bit blinding. Need sunglasses.

Where are the "smilies"? I agree it is a bit hard on the eyes. As to the rank, sergeant's no good to me and I don't want a Quartermaster's commision, so I'm stuffed anyway.

Yes, I agree... too bright, I am struggling to read with the white background. I also have an eye disorder, and the white background blur's the type. A change to a background that is not so dratic in contrast would be welcomed. Thanks

It seems fine to me but I can understand how it might be jarring to some.

You have to hit the "Go Advanced" button to reveal the smilies :)

Yes I'm finding it quite bright too. But if its a lot of trouble for Pete to change I can deal with it no probs.

Rob

Peter...

As its seems to be the case that the white background is going to cause substantial difficulty for many with neurological and optical difficulties is this going to be rectified??? Don't want to rain on the parade but, it does seem to be the most problematic issue and one which could cause additional health issues for those who wish to participate in the forum
