I can't have too many planes, and I love Russians Going to be a a great year. Thanks for the update.
Andy did not elaborate on further details concerning the Stuka releases, but one can only imagine if they will have rubber tires, folding landing gear, etc. It is good news to know that good things are coming down the road for collectors. :wink2:
I recently had the pleasure to meet with and chat with Andy of King&Country at his San Antonio shop Kings X on the 30th of September. The evening lasted about 3 hours in a cocktail party like setting with food and various drinks on hand.To say meeting Andy and discussing the hobby with him was a pleasure would be an understatement. He is a true class act ! He was more than happy to discuss past, current, and future K&C product releases with the guests on hand which numbered about 30 people or so. Also on hand was Laura McAllister and the whole Kings X staff in attendance. A very nice gift was given to all who showed up for the "Battle of the Bulge Beer and Bratwurst" event. A figure from the Chicago show was given out in addition to a packet containing 4 each 8 x 10 sketch drawings done by Andy himself. Now..........Down to business. Some of the information that Andy had volunteered concerning future K&C releases ........
1) Eastern Front WWII Collectors: Be ready for around 7 or so Russian figures and several Russian WWII armored vehicles to be released during the second quarter of 2012 !!! Yes.....The Russians really are coming !!!!
2) Stuka fans: Be prepared for 3 different versions to be released. An early war version, an Africa Korps version, and a Winter version. Andy said these planes are planned to be produced in "Metal" and not in the traditional polystone due to the size and design of the aircraft. Now the kicker to it all......Be ready for an all metal K&C Stuka in 1/30 scale with a price point of under $300.00 !!!!! These should be available towards the end of 2012 !!!! I will be getting all 3 !!!!
3) A special surprise coming pertaining to Texas history and the great frontier ! More to follow........
It was also great to meet Carlos aka desk11 desk 12. Another awesome collector that I had the opportunity to talk with at the event. Thanks Andy for hosting this truly fun gathering, and again it truly was a pleasure to meet the man behind the Elite brand King&Country {bravo}}
It was a good time by all at Kings X. It was great talking to you to and if you're ever in town again come on over and I'll show you around my crazy collection.
Carlos
Why would you imagine it would have rubber tyres and folding landing gear?? Is that because other manufacturers do so?? Lots more info needed before we can even say whether it will have such detail. Jazzeum is also right we do not really know whether it is all metal or a combo.
Have corgi done a 1/32nd scale stuka or a similar company and, if so, what was the price?? or, do the guys who buy this die cast stuff know if one is in the pipeline of releases
Mitch
I have no time to dabble in sillyness. The Stuka is coming in 3 versions....Metal construction.... Enough said.
Why do you dismiss what people are musing about as silliness? No one is critical but are engaging in what people do here: speculating. We all await these models, which may not be awhile for anyway. .
It was these very same speculators who said the use of metal in conjunction with a Stuka was highly unlikely. It was also very elaborately said by the speculators that "Andy will never do Russians again" as they don't sell. I beg to differ. Both of these future releases will make their way onto the display shelves in my home as will those of many others who have voiced their approval and joy awaiting these releases. Cheers Mates........ ^&grin
I have no time to dabble in sillyness. The Stuka is coming in 3 versions....Metal construction.... Enough said. Remember when comments were made about metal being used on a Stuka ?
How comments such as not feasable, not likely Andy will do this or do that. Now that it is a reality there is something else for someone to haggle over. The reality of this all is King&Country is taking to heart our suggestions and reaching out to its collector base and making a product that many of us have been asking for. There is no combo mentioned about the Stukas composition. To repeat verbatim what Andy said....... "An all metal Stuka done in 3 versions....Early War, AK , and Winter. Let's take this for what it is worth and wait to see the final product releases. At a $300.00 and under price point per aircraft I am sure that the K&C naysayers heads are spinning.
A bit touchy are we this morning on the other side of the pond ??? I don't think King&Country needs a new defender as they are doing quite well on their own ....Speculators, sillyness and naysayers!!!! You are well on the ball this morning. If this was aimed at me I think you will find if you look back at my posts never dismissed the prospect of russians, in fact, I have said they would be welsome with the caveat that I do think that there will be an initial interest but, believe this may be a short term interest. This was the same with the last lot and, with other ranges which have been released after some time. A fair example is the arnhem/ Market Garden range. I also only doubted that a version of the Stuka would be feasable in polystone due to the weight and dynamics of the airframe of the JU 87. This has been proven right as its had to be done in metal. I never said it would not come. My sillyness was in responding to your comments about rubber tyres and folding undercarriage which, you deem as an attack on K&C. it was more a retort to your belief that this would happen whereas I feel they will not do this feature. Just because they propose to do a metal aircraft does not mean some form of polystone and other material may not be used.
I do feel, and it is your right, you seem to want to be the new defender of K&C but, this is an open forum where we are able to discuss the topics announced and, then often as not with only snippets of information go from there. You also clearly fail to see that I actually like K&C but, that does not mean that I am precluded from raising issues positive or, negative. What you also fail to see is that many of the comments you so elequently dismiss are taken right from your new founded mates mouth. Andy said never to russians, never to a jagdtiger and similar to Nam et al. They are all out or coming!!!! I have always said he should never close a door as equivocally as things change. So, rather than dive in you should have a chat next event and ask Andy not to say such things. Everything in historical terms from the era's covered should be an option. That is what will happen until we see the pictures of the Stuka's and know what components they are crafted from.
Mitch
Thanks for the great news panzerace, i have been asking for the jagdtiger, russians and dday falschirmjager for years. Last year in chicago andy told me something would be coming and all though it will be over a year in coming , better late than never.the t34/85 kc see made was one of his best ever. I can't wait. And stukas "wow"

If you read back the thread it look like your the touchy one as even Brad pick you up on it . The hobby meant to be fun and why take it all to heart?
