Hi Guys,
I often get asked that question myself or… “What is your favourite?”Well, it’s a wee bit like being asked ,”Who is your favourite child?” of course I love all of ‘em… or I (and K&C) would not have produced them. But here goes in a kind of fashion… and in no particular order…
A. “Fields of Battle”
I love the early-war period of 1940 and the Fall of France. To my knowledge no other company has ever ventured into that area. Also because Britain had its back to the wall and I think we showed our true national character. I believe our British and French figures are some of the finest we’ve ever produced.
B. “Battle of the Bulge”
Without a doubt the best GI’s we’ve ever designed and manufactured. Again K&C led the way with figures and fighting vehicles to back them up.
C. “North Africa”
Monty and the 8th Army… Rommel and his Afrika Korps… Again… others have followed and also done some fine work. But K&C will still be fighting the Desert War long after the others have moved elsewhere.
We’re not finished with this “Theatre of War”… not by a long chalk!
D. “ARNHEM ‘44”
The series back in 1995 that started the whole ball rolling… It’s often forgotten that this directly led to the WW2 “explosion” we know today and the 1:30 scale, realistic matt-style painting. Before these little British Paras came along the vast majority of toy soldiers were in gloss and there were virtually no fighting vehicles!!!
E. RAF and Luftwaffe
Way back in 1990 K&C produced a little four-man set of RAF and Luftwaffe pilots (in gloss) and some wooden hand-carved, hand-painted aircraft… From then till now we’ve come a long way and I hope there’s still an even longer way forward. With a great team of talented folk here in Hong Kong and in China, the Philippines and Thailand we’ll expand our progress.
I’d also like to thank the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of K&C collectors around the world who have come with us on this journey and continue to assist and support us in all our efforts.
With all best wishes… happy collecting!
Andy C.
