I just realized that the two wing guns on my Molders plane are angled up at about 25 degrees or more and are not level with the wings. Has anyone else received a plane like this. It doesn't seem like they are bendable so that I can straighten them out. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this without making a worse problem?

I have the Molders plane, and the guns are completely level with the wings. I've had errors on my K&C products before, but nothing I couldn't jerry-rig. Maybe the plane was damaged during shipping? If you can't live with the guns in that position, I would bend them only slightly. Enough to get them close to level, but not enough to break them completely off. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck

I would not try and bend the guns back as if they break it down to you then ,to me if your not happy send it back , but for me something like that I could live with that

If you hold the guns firmly where they connect to the wings and apply gentle pressure you should be able to bring them back to rights. One must be careful when removing vehicles from their packaging.{sm2}

Bending can be ok if the plane is made from a metal alloy. If it is made from polystone or resin , then leave it alone. You paid good money for it and therefor you are entitled to a 100 % OK plane . I would give it back and ask for another one. Check it before you leave the store or clearly state the reason why you are sending it back and ask the distributor to check the content of the box before sending a new one to you.
guy:)

The guns are metal so, with manipulation they can be rectified. However, Guy is right if you do not want to do this as it will weaken the metal which, may make accidental damage easier later send it back and, get one which is correct

You paid for a perfect item and should recieve nothing less. IMHO since you live in the US and sending it back and forth is fast and no big deal, you should return it to the dealer you've got it from and have it replaced.

I just noticed these on mine but hadn't noticed this before until it was pointed out. I bent them back and they look fine now. This applies to all toy soldiers but the secret in bending anything back, like a bayonet, is to do it so slowly that it seems like it's taking forever. If you do it quickly, it could break off.

Good advice. And if you are too wary of bending them back then I'd return it to your supplier for an exchange. Hope it gets sorted out for you soon.

Also good advice but since only 500 were made that may be hard. Too be honest, I never would have noticed it had not someone pointed it out.

You know if you are careful you can bend them back into position. When I recieved mine they were
slightly bent, I was able to bend them back with no problem. Its up to you :salute::

Do you have a pic to share showing this. ???

My plane also came slightly bent up but I was able to gently bend them back into position.

Hi Guys....Missed this thread first time round so it was in blissfull ignorance that i went yesterday to pick up my 109. In trembling anticipation i removed the lid from the box...First impression..WOW!!. But even before i removed the 109 from the box i saw the problem THE WING GUNS!!!!! I showed the shop owner and he opened another boxed 109 to check, this one was not as extreme as mine ,but still not good. I do not intend trying to bend bits of metal on a model that has just cost me over 200 Euro"s and the dealer quite wisely also declined from this option..So my model is now on its way back to KC!!...I dont mind bending back a bent bayonet or rifle barrel but bending back bits of metal stuck into resin is quite another story!!....After finding this thread i realise that i am not the only one with this problem...But how could this ever have slipped through KCs quality control??..was the guy asleep at the wheel??.
This is not an attack on KC, just a real big dissapointment from a Company that i have learned to expect beter things from!!.

I have seen two of these aircraft from different collectors this week and, the guns were perfect. Maybe, someone at the factory has been putting them in the packaging a bit too roughly????

Still should not happen but, it does look like its not a problem with everyone

I received my ME-109 this Monday. It had both wing guns facing upwards too. {eek3} What now... ^&confuse I live about 12.000 km away from my dealer, so I had only one way to go: gently bend them into position. It was easy and fixed the problem. Anyway, it's pretty clear that this is a very frequent problem with this set, that I am sure will draw K&C's attention to quality control of this supplier on this and any other product they have commited to production with him.

I was the one who started this thread. I may get up the courage to finally try again to straighten the guns. I will hold my breath!

Had the same issue with my model. Was able to bend barrels slightly and it's not noticeable now. Chris
