Rat-a-Tat-Tat! (2 Viewers)

I have to say I,ve been a member of this board since the begining but that post about German generals not eating out doors I think was the most bizarre of all times. And Rob you are correct about those German installations in France. I just read an article in my monthly subscription to "Latrines Times" that in fact the Germans installed those luxurious Johhny on the Spots throughout France.
Sometimes Andy takes heat for responding but this time I don,t blame him firing back with both barrells!

My dear friend, don' t be so scandalized for so little, I didn' t contest the "holy bible". I just wrote a sentence, and Andy and so many people replied and added photos to teach us more on this part of the military life, so I guess what I wrote is not totally stupid or unuseful. I thank Andy for showing a so interesting photo. With it all collectors will be even more attracted to buy the new "Rommel". I just said an opinion, it is never my intention to "fire" as the toysoldiers fire enough...

Very smart Andy to proove ur figure of Rommel
with a picture . Hats off to u my freind

Can I ask how collectors will want to buy the figure more? Is it your reasoning to make higher figure sales by bringing detail or strange comments about them to light? It seems that has been recently tried by someone else who roves europe and the america's and did not really work????

When they are wrong etc mention it but, otherwise should we just let the manufacturers promote their products. does the average collector really care whether 100 or 1000 sell of a figure? I am not really sure so long as they like it they will buy it. It was obvious your comments were wrong but, I would doubt if you have managed to help sell one more of the rommel figure by raising the points you did

Calm down.....You are not my teacher.....And I remind you that this is a forum and not a private advertising area....

Really??
Mitch

Mitch,
I would not pay to much attention to Chris's comment. I recall his knowldege of history is very selective as he was not aware of the investigative journalism for which The Toledo Blade won the Pullitzer Prize.

Back to Rob's point about the use of lavatories in the field. It is often overlooked by historians when comparing fronts that one of the worst hardships of the Eastern Front was that the Germans had to ship in tens of thousands of porta johns. Granted they were able to provide more comfort when stopping to conduct a siege.

I doubt very much whether the Germans were committed to lavatory excellence. I suspect that they were just going through the motions.

I like this Jack. I think you might be able to say that the Germans spent the whole war doing nothing but picking peanuts out of poop.

Keep it silly

Morning chaps. Guys if this thread gets too personal or has a go at another forum it's only going to get shut down , my attempt at humour re the Lavatories was just that, only an attempt to have a laugh, been some unpleasantness around these here parts of late . Loved Jacks ' going through the motions' ^&grin Pleases excuse me as I have a cough this morning....cough cough ....gold medal table...,cough cough...third overall...,cough cough^&grin

Have a good weekend chaps!:smile2:

Toddy,
Mate I had to reach for the Funk and Wagnell to look up 'Masticating', only the English language has so many words that all mean the same thing!. I doubt even Jack has heard that one.
I'll have to chew on it for awhile......:wink2:
Wayne.

In fact Jack has heard of the word and uses it regularly. In an earlier life educating boys, my use of the word always generated some pretty shocked looks. I always wondered why!{sm4}
