Well, it's almost that time again. My Trojans are stacked this year despite the best efforts of the NCAA. A four year starter at QB, Silas Redd picked up from Penn St., two NFL caliber receivers including maybe the best ever at SC in Marqise Lee (and he's only a soph!). They are going to be tough. LSU just suspended Mathieu which is a tough break. He was a great player.

If Marcus Lattimore can stay healthy I like the Gamecocks . Entering the season with a top 10 ranking bodes well for them . SEC is a Tough conference

Silas Redd picked up from Penn St.,

I really wish him the best and happy he went there. He's quite a player and should do really well. Will be interesting to see how he stacks up with the PAC10.

Since I have severed all ties with PSU, I am going back to my roots- Army, though will root for Arizona State since I love that state so much and am such a fan of Pat Tillman.

Well I'm gonna say it like I do every year but deep down I know it will just be another disappointing year. Notre Dame 2012 Champions:wink2:

Hey Chris,

We have to get you up to speed...PAC12 now my man. I am happy that SC' picked up Redd but I would rather that Penn St. was not on probation and this whole situation never happened. I really think that Coach Kiffin is going to go for it this year as in "style points" and high scoring. I believe that the Trojans will return to the National Championship game. What is scary is that their 2013 recruiting class is already ranked #1 even with still limited scholarships. Hope you are doing well & happy to hear you love AZ.

Keep Calm & FIGHT ON,
Marc

I'm primed for a Trojan run for the national championship! Last year was really something special....it's time to finish the job. I am concerned w/ SC's strength of schedule though. Sure there are always some big PAC-12 match ups like with OR, the biggest threat w/ revenge on their minds, but they must come to the Coliseum, as must Cal. And the ND clash will be tough, and it's always more comfortable to play them here. Tough road games with UT, Stanford, and the always dangerous Sark-lead Huskies will certainly test the team. (Thank goodness no trip to Corvalis this year!! {eek3}). All that being said, I really think the Trojans should have scheduled a tougher non-conference schedule. A nice SEC, BIG 10, or BIG 12 match up in week one or two would have been nice. In any case, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy it. I just hope we have a solid new LT as well as a stout defensive front. We lost some key players in those spots. The Trojans may not be very deep but are very strong at QB, WR, CB, FS, SS, RB, and in the kicking game too. Other than questions at LT, the offensive line is very solid and I believe our young TE's are ready to make the next step. Perhaps most importantly, these guys play their hearts out under Kiffin. Last season proved that. If the injuries don't stack up, maybe SC we'll find themselves being one of the last two teams standing in the end. It's going to be a wild ride!!!

Fight on,
Joe

I’m a lifelong Californian, moved to San Antonio, TX 3 years ago and love it here.

Now I’m surrounded by Longhorns and Aggies everywhere.

They’re cool but there’s nothing like being a USC Trojan!

FIGHT ON USC!

I give you credit for optimism. Have you seen the new uniforms for the Miami game?

Saw these pictures a couple of days ago and I'm still stunned, just God awful.

What is up with that helmet?

Thanks to Oregon for starting all of this nonsense.

I'll second that sentiment, considering my UMd Terps are amongst the worst offenders with this hideous multi-color/design uniform fad. -- Al

Yes, they are the second ugliest uniforms that I've ever seen. Just behind the throwback unis the Steelers wore.

The amazing thing about the first picture is they actually got the guy to smile while wearing that clown outfit, all that's missing is a red nose and floppy shoes.

Certain things shouldn't be messed with and the Notre Dame uniform, specifically the helmet, is one of them......................

I hate this new trend with teams messing around with their uniforms. A simple modification here or there is something I could live with but totally changing it up with this garbage is a disgrace. I hate these ND uniforms. Call me old school I guess.

Less than one week to go. The first games start next Thursday. SC-Hawaii is sold out to the tune of 90K+ in the LA Coliseum. They love a winner in LA. Chow vs Kiffin. Hopefully the mighty Trojans get it done. The following week I get a rare east coast opportunity to see to USC play Syracuse in East Rutherford, NJ.

Time to get rolling tonight. Quite a few of the typical cupcake games in week one (LSU vs North Texas!), but a few interesting ones. El predicto:

Mich. St. 31 Boise St. 30. Boise St. is hard to pick against and MSU can beat or lose to just about anyone. Tough game to predict out of the box.

USC 63 Hawaii 14. SC is loaded and looking to pad Barkley's Heisman campaign and their #1 ranking. 5 TDs for Barkley and Kiff calls the dogs off only after piling it on.

Notre Dame 20 Navy 13. I can't see ND losing in Ireland with all those leprechauns. Navy is tough to defend with that option. So it may be close.

Alabama 31 Michigan 17. The game of the week. Bama just has too much talent on defense.

4-0 last week. No huge match ups this weekend but the mighty SC Trojans make a rare east coast appearance. El predicto:

USC 57 Syracuse 31 - this might be closer than expected. Syracuse has a veteran QB who threw 61 passes last weekend. SC sometimes plays a soft zone that can get torched. But too many athletes including maybe the best player in college football in Marqise Lee (and only a Soph!). Either a high scoring shootout win or the Trojans streamroll by 40.

Notre Dame 30 Purdue 27 - This is always an ugly game to watch. ND stomped Navy to raise expectations which usually means they are now in for an upset.

LSU 30 Washington 17 - Too much D.

Arizona 24 Oklahoma State 20 - have to go with one upset pick. AZ at home has a chance.

Hey Chris, the mighty Terps are 2-0! They put up some points in beating Temple 36-27. Hidden in that is a near second half collapse as the Terps led 26-3 at the half. Temple closed to 29-27 before UMd scored the last TD with about 2 or so minutes left. But 2-0 is 2-0, eh? Considering the disasterous loss to Temple, at home, last year, this win looks good. Terps are VERY young, freshman Qb and all, and are turning the ball over too much, but 2-0 is better than I expected. :smile2: -- Al

HI Al, caught the end of the game. Agreed, I'll take 2-0, even with a 7-6 win over mighty William & Mary. :rolleyes2: QB looked better in his second start. Go Terps! Chris
